A witness in the cabin room watched him run through the cabin window and fall about 60 feet into the water. The man was intoxicated, the witness said.
MIAMI -- The Coast Guard rescued a man who was missing at sea for several hours after he jumped from a Port Canaveral-based cruise ship 30 miles east of Fort Lauderdale, according to Local 6 News partner Florida Today.
The man was found shortly before 9 a.m. Friday and was flown by helicopter to a Miami-area hospital, a U.S. Coast Guard official said. "He’s alive," said Petty Officer Dana Warr. "We found him."
There is no word on the man's condition, Warr said. Carnival Cruise ship would not identify the 24-year-old man, according to Local 6 News partner Florida Today.
The search began in the early hours of the morning after cruise ship Carnival Glory crew members notified the Coast Guard at 12:45 a.m. after learning the man went overboard....
