How do you know if a cruise ship is right for you? I'm regularly asked some hard to answer cruise questions like these:What is the best cruise?
What ship would you go on?
You get the idea. These are some difficult questions for a self professed "Cruise Addict." Some things you just feel and know.
I was recently aboard the Carnival Dream for a day tour and lunch. The ship was loaded with new food options, entertainment venues and even a water park. As I was working hard to get around the whole ship in a limited amount of time, I realized something. Everywhere we went we ran into happy kids and families. Lets face it, some ships are not "kid friendly". I'm a father and as a parent of young children you look at things differently.
You begin to scope things out like a field general and take keen notes of the terrain. Because you know that upon your return you will unleash your youngin's for an all out attack.
Here are some are some of my field notes:
Food - Plentiful and Good. The troops will be well fed with hot dogs, hamburgers and Pizza right off the pool area. So they will be well fed during battle play. Oh and don't forget the free flowing ice cream machines that are on almost 24hrs a day! Yes, Seriously.
Water Park - Vast amounts of splashing water and moutains you can swirl and slide down. I observed many other kids of all ages having an absolute great time as soon as they were onboard.
Game Room - Some kids might think this is a battle station alpha, and your kids may not want to leave as you will find air hockey and all the latest arcade games in one of the largest arcades at sea.

Cabins - The Carnival Dream now allows you to have up to 5 people in one cabin. Not something you will find. Most cabins only hold 2 or 4 guests. The Carnival Dream introduces the Category 6N cabins, which hold (5 persons w/ 2 baths). Pretty amazing and some are even connecting, so you can have 10 family members in two cabins.
Age Specific Lounges/Programs - What really makes this ship stand out if the age specific areas from kids 2yrs old up to 17! No one is left behind, its been well thought out and everyone will have a great time.
Carnival isn't the biggest cruise line in the world for nothing. It shows because I was taken back on how happy all the kids were onboard. You know this isn't by mistake, its by design.
