Anchorage hotel advise

Hello
I have been lurking for awhile and decided to join in. We are cruising to Alaska in May on The Diamond Princess. We are taking the train from Whittier to Anchorage post-cruise. I need advise on an Anchorage hotel. Is there anything near the train depot. We were thinking about not renting a car for the day.

There are lots of options and easy to get around downtown Anchorage. Try Inlet Tower.

[Yukon]

The Howard Johnson, Hilton, Anchorage Hotel (a restored "boutique" property) and several others are close by. I generally prefer the Howard Johnson as the best combination of ease and dollar value.
