Juneau Mt Roberts Tram and Handicap Access

Does anyone have any information on how handicap friendly the Mt Roberts Tramway in Juneau and the nature center at the top are? I've tried emailing the tramway thru alaska.net, but the email keeps getting bounced back. The person in the wheelchair can't deal with climbing steps.
Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Juneau Mt Roberts Tram and Handicap Access

The person in the wheel chair could get on and off the tram, however they can pack them in on the tram. What this means is that if someone sees something that interests everyone, such as a bear, everyone shifts to look and can cause problems for the handicapped person. My wife is handicapped but not in a wheel chair and someone did see a bear and she was slammed around pretty good when everyone shifted.

In other words I would suggest if they go on the tram to try to wait a while after the ship gets into town so that the crowds slow down and there is more room for their comfort.
