    Sting Ray City while Expecting

My husband and I are on the May 9th sailing of The Mariner of the Seas. While in Grand Cayman we would like to do the Sting Ray City excursion and I will be 16 weeks pregnant at that time. Does anyone know if this excursion prohibits expectant mothers?????

    Thank you,

not sure if Royal Carib does or does not allow expectant mothers, but in my search on the internet, I came across a few companies that do not allow pregnant women on stingray/shark excursions.

Yes, stingrays are in the shark family. :)

Don't know for sure, if it was the states, I would say no, but in the Carib, who knows? At that time could you climb up and down a boat ladder, (3 or 4 steps) and stand up in 4 feet of water? Because that is about as strenous as it gets.

Thanks for your info. I did do some research. RCCL is requiring a note from my OB GYN, which I have obtained. Also, I have emailed a couple of tour guides who stated it was safe but advised to go at my own risk. I am still undecided! Again, thank you for your help!

I went once a few years ago when I was 6 months pregnant and it was Great. It was a calm day when I went and I was the most buoyant I've ever felt in the water. My tummy was like a balloon that kept me afloat:)

I really don't know if the ship has any restrictions but we did went on

Captain Bryans Catmaran and they didn't have a problem with it, my husband just helped me on the ladder.

I did this snorkeling excursion through RCCL when I was 5 months pregnant. It was WONDERFUL. The Sting Rays would swim over my tummy since it was nice and round, what a treat! We tease my 6 year old son (who went snorkeling last January at Sting Ray City) that he has been to Sting Ray City TWICE! Have fun!
