Re: Corn on the Cob
Maw, we have grilled corn in the past. We would soak it for a few hours in water then put it on the grill. Very good taste and when you peel back the husk you can use it as a "handle" to hold onto the corn. We had it served this way at a fair years ago in Wisconsin. The above video is the neatest, cleanest way I have found to do corn in the husk though.

Re: Corn on the Cob
Didn't work for me! I had to end up peeling it after it was cooked, and there were still a few strands of silk! I was so disappointed - I wanted it to work so bad!

Re: Corn on the Cob
Paw cooked our corn this way he was very skeptical it would work but was very impressed when it did. We will cook corn this way for the two of us from now on. Thanks for the share Whimsey.

Re: Corn on the Cob
Glad it work for you Beryl and Maw.
Terry, did you cut it on the end that it's picked from and about an inch above? I think that's pretty important to get it to work just right. Mine fell right out with a few shakes.

Re: Corn on the Cob
Terry... you are the only person I've heard of that didn't have this method work for them. Was your corn trimmed? If it was trimmed it likely won't work as you have to have the ends of those leaves and all the silk to grasp. As Whimsy says you must also cut the stem end off and enough of that end so that you take off at least one complete row of the kernels. Give it another try it was so easy to cook and clean up was a breeze! The corn was perfectly cooked and it seemed to stay hotter for a longer time than other methods of cooking that we've used.
