HAPPY 4TH JULY!!!Good morning all!! Come lets have a nice cool beverage and chat a while.

My day hasn't started to well. Was filing reservations this morning and noticed return date on air fare was really wrong so I called and after two tries got it changed to the correct day.

Finished book I was reading last night so today am going to look thru and finding something light to read. Looks like lounger with feet up will be a good way to spend the day. Have a few snacks and big jug of icewater. Have the phone near and TV controls.

Paw is playing cards on his computor and probably wi;; get in his lounger and watch movies most of day. Still not into a big hot meal. Seems so strange not expecting any one for 4th, no picnic nothing.

Happy 4th of July to all of my American cruise addict pals! Stay safe and have fun!

Not much going on here today. Sun is out but it's cold (50F) ... hopefully it will warm up today. I will not complain about power shortages because at least they have been short. There are so many other people with much worse weather. Fires, floods, tornados, high winds, extreme heat etc.

Finally found a schedule for house cleaning....a chore that I find so overwhelming that it is painful. This is seeming to work for me and surprise, surprise the house stays clean and tidy. The one or two day clean up everything, that had become the norm around here, is a thing of the past!!

Heading out to scrap with the group today and then lunch with the bunch!

Good morning Maw and Ramblers and to you all! Going to be a sunny HOT day here in VA for the holiday. So far I am off to a laid back lazy start to my day. Didn't get my butt out of bed till 9:30 through Leatherneck has been up and batting around the house since 6 a.m. He is out in the kitchen now cutting up a watermelon for this evening's BBQ with the kids.

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I was really busy at work yesterday. I've taken over some duties of a co-worker who retired so it is keeping me on my toes. Makes the day go by quickly. Jan, I was so sorry to read about your SIL...I know how close you two are. I will keep her in my prayers that a good plan of action by the Drs is available...so far my Mom is doing VERY well.

Maw, glad you were able to get your air reservations straighten out. We have less then 58 days now! I need to remind my girls they need to go online and start filling out the on-line booking documents...so do I LOL.

Like I said DD Mindy, Jenny, niece Kim and their families will be coming out here to the Lake today for the beach and a cook out. Grandkids Austin, Michael and Kiera were in a parade in downtown Fredericksburg this morning with Young Marines...I feel bad that we didn't go but with this heat we were just not up to it. No fireworks tonight....they will be doing them here at the Lake on Saturday so we will probably have another BBQ on Saturday afternoon LOL. Going to do hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, slaw, corn-on-the-cob and watermelon & canaloup. We also ordered a 1/2 bushel of blue crabs for picking.

Not much else to report...I took off work for Thursday and will work from home on Friday so it kind of a long weekend for me Hope everyone has a great day and you all play safe out there!

Happy 4th of July to all!!!
Well its another HOT HOT HOT one here. Still under an excessive heat warning until tomorrow night. 86 now going for a high of 100 with high dewpoints in the 70's it feels like 110. The bad air alert is still in effect also. Good to just stay in.
No plans for the day here no one wants to do anything because of the heat. Some of the 4th activies have been canceled or postponed til the weekend. Just another Wed. for me.
Maw I like the sound of your plan. I am not much into eating much in this heat, just grab it type of things.

Good morning gang. Forgot to tell my dogs that it was a "sleep in" morning so they had me up at the usual 6:15. With the house closed up, the A/C going & the TV on they are doing pretty good with noise from fireworks this yr.

The cities put on quite a fireworks display last night from a barge set up in the middle of the Mississippi. Activities started at 6 o'clock with lots of family activities on both the Iowa & IL river fronts. Although separated by the river, this area really is like 1 big city & often come together to provide entertainment for everyone.

Since we have no plans for the day I think I'm going to get Mike to take me to Cracker Barrel later. Maw, it sounded so good when you described it the other day & we haven't been there for quite a while so it would be something different to do. Might check out the movie listing & go to a movie this evening. Just too hot to do anything else; looking at a heat index of 110* today.

Happy Fourth of July Maw and everyone.

Weather here is strange for July. We still have "June gloom" and temps are in the upper 70s to low 80s. By this time of year we are usually upper 90s or more. Nothing planned for today as I have to work tomorrow. Maybe try to hit the movies early today for something to do. Need to run to the market for a few things too.

Everyone have a safe holiday and try to stay cool.

Hot and more hote here today! Sure glad our friends invited us over for a pool party!

Of course bil has plans and mil doesn't want to go - so we will be running back to check on her. At least we are going to Indy tomorrow to visit my grandson - bil said he was too busy - but I told him I didn't care! Told him he was going to take care of her!

Got my covered dishes made - now just waiting for cleaning up and Jim to get ready -

Happy 4th Maw and friends. I confess that I've been lazy so far today. I've been watching a program called "Presidents" on H2. Interesting stuff. I've also been working and getting caught up on things. I think I'm going to head to Philly in a couple weeks for work. I put in a request this morning. I haven't decided what to do today. The Y will be packed I'm sure. I might head over to my daughters to see my grandbaby. Or maybe I'll just be lazy. It's strange having a holiday in the middle of the week.

Good afternoon everyone. Well back to work today - but it's only a 3 day work week so not too bad. Still busy, so the time is flying by. Hope all my American buddies have a great 4th - we didn't really get to enjoy our 1st holiday as we were moving - but that's OK. They're calling for nice weather through the week - let's hope they're right for a change! Will only take me 10 minutes to get home after work so can sit on the deck if it's nice when I get home!
