This has to be the most beautiful dog park in California!

It was cold but crystal clear today and sunny, so we grabbed Kiefer and drove out to Point Isabel Regional park, the largest public off-leash dog park in the nation.

Who wouldn't love these views of San Francisco as you walk 23 acres with your furbaby?



Kiefer loves getting to interact with all the other dogs, and he sniffed lots of new friends. The tide was waaay out, and even though there are signs not to let your dog out in low tide when mud is showing, people still did it. One doggie got stuck and his owner had to wade out in the mud to get him out. He wasn't far from shore, which was good!

This is the estuary where an egret is shopping for a little lunch.



Every time we come here, I want to be sailing under the Golden Gate...



This is from the bridge over the head of the estuary. The dog park walk includes both sides. We were on one side of the estuary when I heard a huge commotion on the other side. A quick look showed a very BIG dog, being chased and "yelled" at by 5 wiener dogs! We had to park about 1/4 mile away, it was just packed! I would guess there were at least 300 dogs there today. It was great to see them all having such a good time, and such a fun way to get some exercise.

How is Kiefer feeling? Obviously, well enough for an outing...

Walking and going out hasn't been the problem. He did that even before the surgery, when he was in pain and we didn't know he was living with a broken root in his mouth.

More issues the last few days. The pain meds weren't the right dosage, I suspected, because he was crying and staring at me again, and he stopped eating and drinking. Yesterday morning I took him right back to the vets, and made them check the meds to be sure I got the right ones. Check. Then I talked to the vet about upping the dosage. He agreed, so I upped the dosage by 1.5 tabs. Kiefer got another 500 cc's of subcutaneous fluids, and later that night his new dosage of meds. This morning he jumped off the bed and started chasing the cats around! Kiefer's back! I have to find new and inventive ways to get his meds down his throat though. He's wise to all my tricks...
