Smile MAW'S FRIDAY MORNING OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning all. Come join me in some chat and a cool beverage. I am already drinki8ng ice water this morning. Rather nice out right now. Think I will go and take a couple of turns around the driveway. Weatherman says 7 more days of triple diget numbers. Really is zapping the old energy. My eyes are getting tired of reading. I need to get up and move a little more.

Still trying to find a way to get in the PU. Step ladder I thought would work the steps are still too far apart. I can get the first ft. up it seems but the second ft does not want to leave solid ground. I am still not able to go up 2 sgeps from family room to great room. I have got to build up some energy and realize I casn take that step. Sure is tough getting old and you can't do what you used to do. I was always a walker when younger-couldn't aford to buy gas for frivolis driving around so-I walked abt 10 blocks to work of a morning and home of an evening. One place I lived was abt same distance to grocery store so I would walk that.. I used to take out a lot of evenings and walk off stress or frustration. I did learn to not just walk away as far as I could I learned to turn around and start home before I was worn out.

I have broken my phone I had in family room. I need to follow all the cords back and make sure they are all plugged into what they should be.

Good health wishes to all. Keep cool. Travel safe. What is happening in your corner of the sandbox?

Good Morning Maw & @ddict friends
Its a little cooler here again this morning only 70 I think but its not going to last. They say both the heat & humidity are on the rise for the weekend.
Guess I will be staying in for the weekend I just cant breath in that humidity.
Brian & the little one are suppose to be coming overthis weekend so that will be nice. My daughter came over yesterday afternoon & did some laundry & brought me something to eat. It was nice to have some company.
No plans for the day here yet. I could do some more work on this desk that would keep me busy for awhile.
    take care & stay cool

Good morning gang. Looks like a pleasant day here. Only reached 91* yesterday & supposed to be just 89* today but tomorrow it goes back to upper 90s so we will enjoy this day outside.

DS#3 is pulling up old carpet tonight so the installer can get started early tomorrow morning so GS & GD will be staying here tonight. DD is taking both of them to the pool this afternoon so hopefully they will be worn out & ready for bed eary tonight because this grandma is always exhausted by the time Fri eve gets here.

DS#2 & his fiancee flew to San Francisco yesterday for a wedding so I'm tending to the cat & the mail.
It's a very skiddish cat so best I can do is put out fresh food/water. No point in trying to give her a little attention as she takes off & hides the minute I come in the door.

Terrible getting up this morning & hearing about the senseless shooting in Colorado. Some guy gets upset about something & shoots a bunch of innocent people.

Hoping DD & I can get our 2 mi walk in early tomorrow before the heat sets in. No plans for the weekend. Mike thinks he wants to see Batman but I told him I think the theaters will be a mad house & best for us to avoid that show for a couple of weeks.

Not much else from here. Enjoy your weekend.

Good morning fellow @ddicts! ! ! It appears it is going to be another wet dreary day here. Rained all day yesterday and more today.

We had another big meeting yesterday about vehicle fleet cutbacks. Was not nearly as successful as I had hoped. Seems people think they are entitled to have a Government vehicle at their immediate disposal no matter what. They just don't get the fact there is a fiscal urgency in reducing the number of vehicles we have. I will just continue to provide the use data and guidelines to the Commad and then let them decide.

Still have a cold kicking my backside. Hope to get over it soon. Bread is getting tired of all the coughing fits I have.

Off to work. Have a GREAT day everyone, and stay safe! ! ! !

Good morning. It is a wet morning here but it is only making it steamy. Would like a bit of wind to stir the air around.

We went to the Y yesterday but didn't last long & when we got home Alf went to see the dr. as he wasn't feeling well. Turns out he has pneumonia! He has tests to go for today.

It is going to be noisy around here today as there is a new roof being put on one of the units.

I go to the dentist this afternoon - oh joy! Tomorrow Laurie is coming to visit. Not sure if she will have Lacey with her but she will have lots of stories about her.

Re: MAW'S FRIDAY MORNING OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning Maw and Ramblers. Drizzly and 73 here in VA this morning...we need the rain...flash flood warnings are in effect. Hope it clears up somewhat by this evening for the kids as they are doing the "Family" camping weekend starting tonight.

Maw, be real careful about pushing those steps! Think about using that fold up Easy Light scooter that you've bought and never used and maybe renting one for Paw so that you can use the car. I know how hard those steep steps can be as I am having issues myself. Last weekend on Linda and Bruce's boat I had a very difficult time with the steps...now this week my hips/back and knees are killing me.

Jan, it was nice taking with you this morning....hope you get to see your little man this weekend.

Kathy, I can imagine you are exhause by Friday....I don't know how you do it but I hear kids can keep you young! Is it true LOL?

Toby, hope you feel better soon.

Liz, sorry to hear Alf has pnemonia...hope he feels better soon.

So sad to wake up to the news coming from CO...how horrible for all involved. Thoughts and prayers go out to Aurora....Leatherneck use to go to that theater when he would go to training at an AF base out there he said.

Well take care all and have a good weekend.

Re: MAW'S FRIDAY MORNING OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning. I got back from my personal training session about an hour ago and am now on 2nd cuppa tea. It's tough to raise my arms...did a lot of body weight work, and...let's just say I have a lot to work with!

Maw, I walk just about everywhere. We have only one car between the two of us, and DH is the one who drives it. I would much rather walk or take public transit. Even at my age, and as active as I've been, I still find it difficult sometimes, particularly in hot weather and when I am not wearing the best shoes. I even had an injury some time ago as I wasn't getting proper foot support. I know it must be so frustrating to not be able to do something we once took for granted. HUGS to you.

I can't get my mind off the tragedy in Colorado last night. The anguish all those families are going through today! Makes any issues I have seem trivial.

Getting ready to go out for my Friday lunch with my friend Sarah. I have a couple of leads on jobs that I will attend to before I go.

Wishing everyone a good day. Thoughts and prayers to all in need.

    Good morning addicts,
It's hot here already and very humid atleast we are getting a break from the thunderstorms. I did manage to get some good pool time in yesterday and today looks good too. Things are quiet here today and that is fine with me.
So sad to hear about the shootings in Colorado, a senseless tragedy.
Get well wishes to all who are under the weather.
    Have a good day,
    Pat

    Good Morning Maw and gang

Maw, be careful on those steps!

Liz, I hope Alf gets well soon.

Jan, enjoy the weekend with GGS and Brian.

Nieciez, take it easy this weekend and rest those sore bones

Lisa, I too have always been one to walk everyday. I didn't drive until I was 28 yrs old after the birth of our first child. Even now I love to take walks.

Tobyn, Hope you kick that cold soon. Summer colds are the worst.

Geekette, This summer is the most that I have been in a pool.

    Kathy, Enjoy the weekend.

Today DD Ria and family are leaving for their vacation to the beach house. All of Jim's family will be staying there. Every year they all get together and rent a big house. The cousins love it. We will be keeping Cody Bear ( their dog) here with us for the week.

Good Morning. Woke up early this morning, so started the watering, puttered around the house, then fell back in bed for a very nice nap.

Been refining all our cruises. Moved us from an inside on the Golden to Alaska, to a window suite. guite expensive, but the other one did not have a couch (same cabin on Grand and Star do). Go figure!! I use a couch a lot. When I can't sleep at night, some times I can move to the couch and drop right off. Also, I think I deserve it .
