    Cool MAW'S SATURDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning all Come join me in chat and a Bloody Mary in Fledas memory. was very sorry to read this as I woke this morning. She made me feel so welcome from our first cruise together.

A beautiful day in Ozarks yesterday had the windows open all day even all night such nice cool fresh air.

Another quiet week end. Paw enjoyed yesterday so much doing all kinds of little chores around yard and in garage.

I plan to get my scooter out of green hosue and go out around the yard today. Need to make sure it is ready for Dream cruise.

Catch you all later muffins are ready-I know not on my diet.

What is happening in your corner of the sandbox?

Good Morning Maw & @ddict friends
I too was sorry to see that Fleda Had died. I never meet her but enjoyed reading her posts on the board especially about her dog.
Cool here too Maw I too was able to leave the windows open over night, it felt so good to have the fresh air & not be closed in. Today is going to be another perfect day with a high of 76 & no humidity.
Maw hope your scooter is ready to go for you.
I am having company this morning. My great grandsons dads girlfriend is coming over to spend the day with me. It will be nice to have someone else here in the house. Its been awful quietr around here lately.
    I better go get dressed.

Good morning gang. You're bright & early this morning, Maw. We too have had our windows open the last 2 nights & I've really slept sound; so nice to feel that fresh air.

The kids should be here any minute & we're headed to the State Fair for the day. Not much else from here. Enjoy your weekend.

    Re: MAW'S SATURDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good Morning Maw,and ramblers..I too mourn Fleda, not having sailed with her but yapped on the phone over the years..=/.. what a wonderful woman..and Dean so devoted to both her and their critters..sigh...

    hard losses this year indeed......

I am off this weekend.I had logged over 110 hours the last 2 weeks and once again over 57 this week.
    but this weekend is my 35th High School Class reunion..Mark and I live in the town I graduated from;

My parents, sister Vicki, and I ;we moved here from Connecticut when I was 10 years old, I moved away at 19., back at 27..so even though I have spent many years here on and off..
as has been said by my GF's who are from here..
I'm not"born here, raised here, die here"..( Thank Goodness!!!).a term that means:.. Native Vermonter, and for many the only time they ever left VT; it was to Visit Canada ( which was a BIG DEAL/ or go to Florida for a vacation/ or move there in their Senior years as a "Snow Bird".here 6 months, down in Florida 6 months- economics wise it was few who had the means to even do that!!!

until maybe 30 years ago, many, many Vermonter's were hard core in their beliefs of who they would even think or befriending, or hanging with based on your being"from here" or from "Down Country"...sigh....so my Grade school/High School Years were NOT always fun.
So after Nursing School, and getting married.( my former husband from Northern VT-).and my Husband being in The Marine Corps..my getting the BEEP outta here was the BEST.
It Simply made me look long and hard at how the attitudes of "The Native Vermonter's"and how we were perceived
evolve how it worked when I moved back...Small Fish-Big Pond syndrome was alive and well for many, many years in this 10,ooo folks town.and surrounding villages.
Chiefly if was the ONE reason my parents moved to Maine, and IMMEDIATELY started working back in the BIG Cities 35 years ago..., up and down the East Coast with their engineering firm...

and when I came back I chose the locals games I'd play on MY Terms...needless to say...those years living all over the USA, I got a bit more hardnosed, and .ever since...lol..we choose what we do.;.
and my second husband Mark being from Colorado, and moving here at 37 years old..he got gifted with the same attitude..LOL..so we are united in our outlooks...works like a charm, and those that are Near and Dear..it's all good.. the rest... .

yet many times over the years the *ONLY* time I see even some of the locals is at the 5 year marker parties!!!!

we have a small circle of buddies, my HS class was for this area huge - a class over 240..so I tend now to go, as over the years they move away or pass.. 4 classmates have passed in the last 5 years..and I am 52!!!..

the weather is perfect..I have some errands to run, and the dinner/dance at the Local Country Club..and that is a loose term indeed..very low key and not in any way shape or form of what the connotation of "Country Club" means to many. .
.LOL...truth to tell I have only been to it 3 times over the years for events..
we do not socialize in the sense of the word here...we may go out to dinner...on the rare occasion...but it's usually out of town.. or the local Applebee's.. and I am not being snobbish at all, but we just do not spend $ out, especially here, I cook, and with my incredible hunker down of hours...the very last thing I want is to have to be out..I get home, and that's it...Bless Mark and his grilling, and me cooking ahead, and low carbing it...it's what our lifestyle is..

When I am off work, and on vacation the 8 weeks I take a year.. our outings for the main are at Sea or Land cruise..lol...or at Home in Maine, CT, or Colorado.....yes we do have outings for meals..but then again we are visiting kin, and that makes a difference......:)...
well I have a passel of errands, laundry to churn, hang, and get to.my weekends are so Dear, some Olympics if it works..tomorrow a nap..and Wowee Zowwee Napcar..Back when it works..prayers for all those in need.Hugs Joanne

    Re: MAW'S SATURDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning @ddicts. The sun is moving in and out this morning and it is wet from overnight Tstorms...temp is sitting at 73 right now and heading to upper 80s with a chance of more storms.

I was so heart broken to read about Fleda last night but I know she is now at rest after her long battle. The first time I met Fleda and Dean was when we were doing a pre-stay in the Dulles airport area before a cruise...they live near the airport and we met for dinner. It got to be our habit to do that anytime Leatherneck and I flew out of Dulles....and we were lucky to have them come to our home 2x. They were the sweetest couple and Fleda had a sharp wit about her that I just love. We shared a great love of yellow labs....Fleda introduced me to the novel "Marley and Me" and I in turn shared it with another Lab lover who was a regular poster, Log Cabin. So dear Fleda, please rest in peace....you were a wonderful friend.

Speaking of Log Cabin, she has been in the hospital. She has had a round of pnemonia that she just can't seem to kick. Please keep her in your prayers. She may not post but she is lurking and does read Maw's Ramble when she can.

Maw, it wont be long now! Might actually get the suitcases out...need to lend a few to DD Jenny too!

Jan, enjoy your company today! Wish it was cool enough here to sleep with the windows open.

Kathy, have a wonderful time with the kids at the fair....hope you share some pictures.

Joanne, enjoy your reunion and time off.

    Hi KK.

Not much on our agenda. Sears is coming out to start fixing the washer. We have a load of laundry that is "stuck" in the frontloader as it wont only not run but it wont unlock. It is going to smell sweet 1-5 window which ruins the day! And I know they will have to order another cirucit board so that means laundromat or one of the kid's house.

Hope everyone is doing well and you all have a good day ahead of you.

    Re: MAW'S SATURDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning everyone. Had a lovely evening at my cousin's house last night for a bbq. They are gradually involving us in their group of friends since we moved to their little community. Otherwise so hard to make friends. Joanne we are like you tend to only go out if it's with friends or family, and our trips are our salvation. Don't work the hours you do - not many could! But still savour our vacations. When I was back home all our high school gang was at the wedding I went to and we took a picture. There were 6 of us that hung out together, and darn it the 6 of us still see each other whenever we can! I love that we can still do that!

Anyway, off to garage sales and a visit with MIL today. Beautiful weekend so plan on enjoying it!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Terry

Good morning. It is a lovely morning here. Sunny but no humidity & not hot. I had a great sleep last night & for once in a long while the arrival of the daily paper didn't wake me at 4AM. I have sheets churning but sure wish I could hang them outside to dry in the sun.

I had another physio-therapy treatment on my arm yesterday & it hurt while she was doing it but seems okay this morning. She really stretched it. Which it needed!

Sorry to read that you all lost a cruising buddy. I never had the opportunity to meet her.

Hope all have a great weekend.

    Re: MAW'S SATURDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good Day Maw and friends. I too was sadden to read about Fleda. She was a hoot.

It's a beautiful day here in the 70's. We are thinking of going to the local winery for dinner. It's one of those places where you grill your own steak (or other items like chicken). It's sunny and not to hot. I'm going to call the kids to see if they want to join us.

Not much else on the agenda. I worked a pre-season football game last night and the Reds are in Chicago. I'm enjoying my weekend off.

    Have a good day all.

    Re: MAW'S SATURDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Hey everyone! I am the late one today! I was so sorry to read about Fleada - may she Rest in Peace.

I have been busy all weekend with mil while Jim is away golfing - but that is ok - cause my turn is coming! lol

We also have the guy coming Monday to start painting the inside of our house - so I am cleaning out our bedroom and the bathroom. Those will be the first two rooms and then we will shuffle the other rooms into them while they get painted. I am cleaning out while I do this - pitching alot of stuff as I am not a decorator and things have not been changed in 20 years! lol Oh well, - they are getting updated now!

Cool and rain here today - like a fall day instead of summer! Again, I seem to have missed the summer except for our weekend in Myrtle Beach last weekend.

Gotta run - take care and enjoy!
