    Grin MAW'S SUNDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good morning all. Come join me in a cool beverage and some chat.

Uesterday was a gret day for me. Joined with over 30 members of my mom"s family. Many I had not seen in over 5 years. My five aunts and uncles from 86 to 76. I was shocked though how old they looked. seems a couple may have early alzthimers. Which is problem way back in this family. All of my cousins from Oklahoma were there I hadn't seen them since their mother died 10 years ago. I was only granddaughter until I was 15 but after that cousins ran to girls. So nice to see them all so happy and seemingly doing good. We only had 2 small children. I did get to rock the younger one of these to sleep. He looked so much like his deceased grandfather brought back some good memories of Gregg. Brenda seemed to have a good time. There was so much good food. Everyone came with baskets full. Lots of good salads, a full crockpot fresh greenbeans. Had some of best cucumbers, onions and yellow squash in venigar and sugar . Wish I had another helping of this.

Paw is out watering early this morning. Other than watching Nascar race plan to take it easy with cool food for lunch and dinner.

    Welcome home Duckies.

Hope everyone is feeling good and playing. We seem really low on posters. Lots of people reading but not saying anything. Come on gang share with us.

Good Morning Maw & @ddict friends
Maw so happy to hear that you had such a nice day yesterday. I too enjoy getting together with family members but it dosnt happen often enough. only at funerals it seems. The food sounds like it was good. Makeing me hungry, havnt had breakfast yet. Like you I will be eating cool foods today.
We are under another excessive heat warning here. The dewpoints are sky high. No going out for me in this humidity. It takes a persons breath away.
Not sure yet what I will do today, nothing that takes an energy thats for sure.
    Take care

Good Morning Maw, Jan, and gang

We finally got some rain yesterday afternoon. Yey! We are still in a drought so hopefully we'll get some more rain this week.

I've been busy this morning cooking for our picnic at DD Ria's this afternoon. I made Mostaccioli and Italian sausage, tomato cumcumber onion salad, Ribs are slowly cooking. Being it's hot we'll be spending most of the time in the pool and eat inside.

Maw, so glad you were able to attend the family reunion. It's always so nice seeing family members that you can't visit with very often. Our family reunion on my Dad's side is always in August. I remember going to it when I was a little girl.

Jan, enjoy the day and stay cool.

Good morning. Glad that you had a nice day with your relatives yesterday.

It is good to be home & sleeping in my own bed! But it is so humid here which is so odd for here. We finally got sun when we got to Victoria. The rest of the trip was mostly overcast. It was a lovely trip & so nice to meet friends from the past & others from reading of them.

I have finally finished the washing. Still have a few things to put away. Alf & I both got the sniffles at the end of the trip but it hasn't developed into anything else.

I ran out of some of my meds halfway through the cruise. I had been to my dr. before the trip & asked that he make sure I had enough to last me until tomorrow. I did get enough from the ships dr. And Alf's inhalers ran out.

    Have a great day.

Good morning everyone - and welcome back Liz!

Had a beautiful day yesterday - did errands in morning, and laid on deck in afternoon. Had burgers and salad for dinner. Not sure what we'll get up to today - it was lovely out while I drank my first cuppa tea, now it's clouded over. The mainland was calling for showers later - hope we don't get em!

Glad you got to your reunion Maw - family is so important! My daughter finally booked her flights to Ottawa in 2 weeks. We're going to my best friend's son's wedding, then a family bbq to celebrate 4 milestone birthdays in our family, bro and bro-in-law turn 50, I turn 60 and my mom turns 80. Too many old folks!!

Anyway, have a great day everyone!

    Terry

    Re: MAW'S SUNDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

    Good morning.

Welcome home to our cruisers. It's nice to have you back.

Maw, your reunion sounds nice. Glad you got to see so many in the family. I am losing all the old ones, soon I am going to be the old generation. I only have 1 blood uncle, 1 uncle and 1 aunt thru marraige left. The only one I see regularly is the blood uncle. After those 3 goes it's our generation. I am the youngest of all my siblings and cousins though. We need a family reunion but highly doubt we will ever have one. Many live in the area and we see each other and the others are distant and don't care to get together much. Some don't even come for weddings and funerals.

The hummingbirds are still a hungry lot. I have more food cooling on the stove. We came home last night and the feeder was empty. I'm sure they are mad, breakfast is late.

We celebrated the youngests grandson's 4th birthday yesterday at a splash park. The kids had a ball. I am so glad we are on good turn with step son's exes so we can be with the kids.

Today I have an open house from 1-3. I hope someone comes out. Open houses here are touch and go. Sometimes you have lots of people and sometimes you don't.

The heat has returned and the pool is looking like the place to be after the open house.

    Re: MAW'S SUNDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

    Morning Maw and everyone.

Maw, glad you had a good time yesterday. Catching up with family is a real treat when everyone is spread out. The cucumber/tomato salad sounds good. Need to find a recipe.

We are finally getting the heat with humidity that all of you have been talking about. Today the humidity should be a lot less but still have the heat. Its ok as I have plenty to do inside but need to run out to the market for a couple of things but want to limit the time in the heat. Keep looking a cruises out of FLL but have not found any direct flights to FLL. I'll keep looking and see what happens. Anyone have recommendations for getting from So Cal to FLL?

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Re: MAW'S SUNDAY OFFICE RAMBLE

Good afternoon gang. Very hot here with temps reaching mid 90s & heat index of 100* by the afternoon. Hadn't walked with DD for a while because of the heat/humidity so thought I would try it this morning as it seems this heat is never going away but it was a real struggle. Took water with me & really slowed down but still had to stop twice during the 2 mile trek. DD wanted to go get the car & come back for me but I wanted to complete it & finally did but it really zapped me. Watered my flowers early this morning so plan to shower & just relax for the afternoon.

Maw, so glad you had a gresat time at your reunion. My mother was 1 of 8 siblings & the families used to get together every yr for a big reunion. What fun we had in those days but as the yrs went along & everyone got older it seems the reunions just faded away.

Not much else from here. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Afternoon Maw, Paw, Janpep and C@ Gang!!

Maw, your reunion sounds wonderful, made my mouth water with all the good food. I am so glad you are able to see so many of your family.

Well, today we are being L.A.Z.Y. no other way to say it. Ha!!!! I keep asking Den if he wants to do something, but he says..."no, it is too hot out there." Which, I agree, it is.

We did go see Moonrise Kingdom on Friday and it was very funny and just a feel good movie. Not enough of those around. Our son called this morning and he said they went to see it last night and that he really liked it as well.

Gonna read my book now...maybe take a nap. Ta-ta!
