Thank you, maw. I'm not going on the same cruise as the Ducks, but we overlap for a night in Seattle.

Good morning gang. Yesterday was picture perfect & last night was great for sleeping with temps down to 49*. Still nice but a little warmer today & tomorrow the heat/humidity return for the next several days. Have the baby napping & the other 6 outside.

Just thinking about how things are right now with terrible fires in the west, torrential rains in the south, excessive heat in the middle of the country. And to add to those troubles we have a congress that refuses to work together for the betterment of this country, a supreme court that seems to think unlimited funds from unnamed sources are a great way for politicians to get elected (I'm sure that none of these unnamed sources with billions of $$ don't expect anything in return from their "paid for" candidate), & politicians on all sides that stick to talking points that are at best just half truths. This is just 1 of those mornings that I wish I could have put my head back under the covers & slept for the day.

Hope everyone has a great cruise. Those in fire or flood areas be safe & those with the heat try to stay cool.

Good morning Maw and friends. It's going to be another hot week here in the SW Ohio. Temps should reach 100 later in the week. We need rain so bad. The grass is starting to turn brown. I'm watering my plants twice a day to keep them in bloom.

It's been a busy few weeks with my daughter Amy's wedding. My sister left today to head back to Washington State. It was a great visit as she hasn't been here since Kelly's wedding and her husband hasn't been here for over 10 years. Amy and Drew delayed their honeymoon until September when they will be cruising the Med. on the Ruby Princess.

I'm starting to look at ideas for our Hawaii cruise. With only 4 days to explore we'll need to make good choices.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Afternoon maw and the rest of U Ramblers. Its a gorgeous day here with hardly any humidity which has me in the Lake Walk mood. That probably is dreaming so perhaps I have a better idea of a walk on the trails here. Best get to it so ttfn Gang. EVERYONE stay safe and enjoy the rest of their days.

Good afternoon cruise addicts, We just got our internet, phone and TV back. It had been out since Sunday afternoon, never realize how much you miss it until it isn't there. We had about 13" of rain here and had to drain water from the pool 3 times so it would not overflow. We are lucky to have no real damage, the pond behind the house is higher than I have ever seen it.
If you are in the path of Debby becareful. Have a good day all.

Well the day is almost done...and it doesn't seem like I've had "day" at all. It has been cold, gloomy, wet and dark! All my lights are on, I'm wearing long sleeves and fleecy trousers. It feels like a day in mid November more than a day the the tail end of June. DH is returning from a trip to Alberta and tells me he has seen lots of bear...and really, really, stupid people out of their cars approaching them to get photos. UGH....I hate stupid people that do things like this and then the bears end up having to be shot when they get protective of, what I believe is, their space and their cubs (One of the sows had a pair of cubs with her)! He says lots of ungulates too!

Tomorrow is scrap and gossip day so I'm hoping for a little sunshine!

Enjoy your evening and safe travels to all who are heading out this week!

Maw - checking in from yesterday....the antipasti dish was a big hit. I layered it, starting with the beets on the bottom, then the zucchini, vidalia onions, yellow patty pan squash, tomatoes, mozzarella, then a sprinkling of the reduced balsalmic vinegar. I cut everything into circles and it all looked great and ate even better. Ha!

It was served room temperature. The leftovers have been eaten straight out of the fridge and with the temps we've been having, the coldness is very much appreciated.
