Boy, what a roller coaster this last 6 weeks has been. My daughter got married yesterday to a very nice young man. I'm still exhausted, but I managed to upload a few pics to share with you.
This is the wedding site, in Tilden Park in the Oakland hills. We booked a long time ago, so we were hoping for a nice day, at least no rain, or fog. It had to be 100*. It's sheltered, and we didn't get much of a breeze. This is the picnic site. Wedding took place to the far left, in the shade. To the far right is the picnic area, with 10 picnic tables, and 2 serving tables.
We arrived at 9am to set up early. Guests started arriving about 11am.
My new son in law has a gardening business, and he actually came to the picnic site 3 weeks ago and did some pruning and cleaning up of the tree we were all gathering under! Here he is up that tree hanging lanterns and decorations.
Here is Emerson in his wedding finery, waiting for the bride. He has not seen her wedding dress yet.
My beautiful little girl. How the heck did she grow up to be old enough to get married? But I'm very happy for her. At this point no one has seen her yet, and she didn't want anyone to see her. But mom's can get away with anything with our little girls...
Their friend Nick is officiating. He introduced them to each other, and after it became obvious to him that they seemed perfect for each other, he said if they ever got married, he wanted to marry them. He did!
I'm trying really hard not to cry in this picture!
What an amazing day. I was so tired after it was all over. The kids came by today as they were leaving to go on their honeymoon, a week in a cabin on the Mendocino coast. I know they will have a wonderful time!
