Midwest
* Showers & storms possible from the central Great Lakes and Ohio Valley through the Central Plains today
* Some severe storms possible from northern Ohio to southeastern Kansas
* Showers & storms continue in the Ohio and Mid-Mississippi Valley tonight
* Severe storms possible tonight in the Ohio Valley
* Storms are also possible today in the Northern Plains and the Upper Missouri Valley
* Some severe storms possible today in the eastern Dakotas and western Minnesota
* Storms are possible tonight for the Northern Plains, Upper Mississippi Valley, and western Great Lakes
* Severe storms possible tonight for the Upper Missouri and Upper Mississippi Valleys
* Hotter than average temperatures expected in the Plains
* Highs will range from the mid 70s in northern Minnesota and Upper Michigan to the 100s in western parts of Kansas and Nebraska
South
* Showers & storms are possible in the Southern Plains & Lower Mississippi Valley
* A few severe storms are possible from North Texas through northern Arkansas
* Some showers & storms are also possible in the Southern Appalachians
* A few severe storms possible tonight in western Virginia, northeastern Tennessee, and northwestern North Carolina
* Some stray storms are possible in South Florida
* Cooler than average temperatures are expected along the Atlantic Coast
* Warmer than average temperatures are expected in the Texas & Oklahoma Panhandles
* Highs will range from the 70s along the North Carolina Outer Banks and Virginia Coast to near 100 in West Texas and the Rio Grande Valley
Northeast
* Showers & storms move into the interior by this afternoon
* Showers cross the mountains and reach the Mid-Atlantic Coast by tonight
* Some severe storms are possible tonight in western Pennsylvania and western West Virginia
* Cooler than average temperatures are expected along the coast
* Highs will range from the 60s along the New England Coast to 70s & 80s elsewhere
West
* A few storms are possible in the Northern Rockies & High Plains
* A few storms are possible in the higher elevations of New Mexico and southern Colorado
* Showers are possible for western Washington and northwestern Oregon by tonight
* Windy conditions are expected for much of the Northern and Central Rockies & High Plains
* Windy conditions are expected in the Great Basin
* High fire danger conditions are expected for much of the Great Basin and parts of the Rockies and High Plains
* Hotter than average temperatures are expected from California through the High Plains
* Parts of the Rockies and Great Basin should threaten record highs today
* Cool temperatures are expected in western Washington
* Highs will range from the 40s in the higher elevations of the Cascades to the 110s in the deserts of southeastern California and southwestern Arizona
