:X receptionists!
Good afternoon. I just called the vet, Simon's lump is no better, and now when you touch it he yells. I am waiting to see if they want me to bring him in. I had a little argument with the girl on the phone. She originally told me to bring him in this afternoon. But, I told her, the doc said if it wasn't better he would put him on antibiotics. I asked if I had to bring him in for that, or if they could call in an RX.
She said she didn't really think I could get pet RX's at Walgreens, very snidely! I thought it was funny she said Walgreens. Really? I told her I had worked there for 25 years, and had worked in the RX dept occasionally, and had seen quite a few packages go out marked for "Pet".
She replied, "Well, I don't know if they would have (drug name I forgot). So, now is SHE prescribing?? I told her I was just trying to avoid a half hour drive in the rain if I could, but if they needed to see him, I would be there. She said whe would call me back. That has been about an hour and I haven't hear from them. What irritates me is that I was just in town. I didn't realize he was worse until I got home, or I could have stopped there first.
Simon is put out with me right now, anyway. I was eating some pizza, on my computer desk of course, and he kept trying to get on the desk to my plate. I told him no several times, and chased him away, but as soon as I turned my head he had his nose in my plate and his jaws open just ready to bite. I yelled NO and tapped him on the head, very lightly. OH, the indignity! He was not amused. He ran off and hid under my chair, his favorite place to be. I know he still thinks he has to forage for food, but he has to learn to ask, not help himself!
I wish I could have gotten to my camera last night when he had a "cat fit". He attacked my couch throw pillow, and threw it off on the floor. Then he started checking under and behind the cushions for loose change. All of a sudden, that menacing tail crept up on him so he had to chase it for a while. Finally caught and bit his back foot. He was doing all sorts of acrobatics. Got some good photos this afternoon of the three of them playing, tho.
Still have not heard from them, I have to change clothes and leave soon if we have to go. This is irritating!!!!!!! :X

The office closes at 5. I had to leave by about 4:25. They called at 3:00 and said the vet would call my Walgreens and see which antibiotics they carried that would work for Simon. They would call me and let me know. It is now 6:45 and they never called. I even looked up my RX history online and no ne RX's. Very frustrated!!

Re: :X receptionists!
I called the pharmacy, they said yes he had called in an rx and it was ready! That could have sat there until tomorrow! I am not hapy. They also told me the rx would have too much in it, to discard what is left. Crazy!

Re: :X receptionists!
Awwww.....poor Simon. And poor Conniecat! We have a receptionist like that at work......I want to strangle that girl sometimes! Takes responsibility for things that are just not in her realm (like telling the lab they can reschedule the blood draw for the next day without asking the nurse!!!!! And telling patients and families one thing when the truth is something else and then we have to explain why they got the wrong information in the first place. And yet, she still works here!
