Bill Gates' Ship

Hi all
I am looking for the name of Bill Gates' personal ship. My Neice was on the Empress of the Seas last week and saw this ship. However she could not remember the name of it. Can you help me? then I can look it up on the net and take a look at it.
Cheers for now

Re: Bill Gates' Ship

Don't know the name of the ship but would love to know what she thought of the Empress of the Seas - lots of questionable reviews - we've booked for 3/06 due to 9 islands in 11 days and good prices including air round trip DFW - San Juan. Thanks

Re: Bill Gates' Ship

She works on the ship. She is just finishing an 8 month assignemnt on her. 2 more 11 night trips and she will be home for 6 weeks before joining one of the Radiance Class ships.
I know she liked the ship. However we almost took a cruise on her but we changed our mind when we looked at the size of the cabins. We needed a Junior Suite for 3 adults and found the cabin and balcony to be too small for us. However the iteniery for the ship looks fabulous.
Cheers for now

Re: Bill Gates' Ship

Texas Sue,

We did the Empress Nov/Dec 2003 and loved it. We are doing her again April 11 on the same 11 day cruise you are going on. She is a smaller ship by todays standards but we have been on several 1/3 her size. You can read my review in the Reviews Forum.

To keep the shower curtain from sticking to you, take some clothes pins or other heavy clamp-type gadgets that you can clamp to the bottom of the curtain to keep it from blowing around in the draft.

Our cabin had plenty of storage space. Infact we didn't use it all. The king-size bed did leave some small spaces on each side but that was no problem. We've had smaller rooms.

Good luck.

I tried to find out the meaning of the ship without any real success, I do know that it bothers the people at the Jewish news site. I am not sure why. I will ask my MD, he is Jewish.

OK, that didn't take too long, "goy" can mean Christian.

Yes, one of the websites does hit on the GOY connection... I'm thinking GO - something - US??? I guess if you got the bucks, you don't have to make sense!

Re: Bill Gates' Ship

Thanks for all the replies. Now, if only I could find a photo. I did not realize how difficult it is to find a photo of the ship. I guess some people do not like photos of the megayachts posted on the net. I found pictures of two of Paul Allens yachts but nothing on this one.
I'll keep trying
Cheers for now
