Carnival Destiny - Nassau questions

Hello. We've just booked a 5 day cruise on the Destiny - visiting Nassau, private island and Turks & Caicos. Never been to any of these ports - please tell us the good and the bad for any/all of them!

In Nassau don't go to Pearl Island. The most interest part of that excursion was the boat ride to and from the island.

Michael - thank you for the information! Have you heard any negative stuff about the Carnival Destiny? My hubby did some searching yesterday - and he didn't hear anything good! I'll be checking some more myself today.

We haven't cruised her since '02 when she was sailing the southern Caribbean out of San Juan but we enjoyed her.

Nassau has Atlantis Resort aquarium @ $45 well worth seeing! and a short cab ride to Paradise Island (5 min), knockoff designer purses at the "straw market" and gambling casinos. Turks and Caicos has a great beach right near the area you arrive at the island, also a Margaritaville with a free to use HUGE lagoon type swimming pool - http://www.margaritavillecaribbean.com/grandturk.html

Private island is a WONDERFUL swimming beach and nice island BBQ. ENJOY it ALL!

We were on the Destiny about 6 months ago and the ship was awesome!
