Las Vegas, Navada fun trip, New York, NY Hotel on the strip

I flew to Las Vegas on Delta from Los Angeles LAX airport. I had a free pass to use their Skymile club.
It was in the morning and they had all kinds of breakfast types of snacks and alcoholic drinks. I made believe I was on a cruise ship so I packed up a lot of the goodies to take to my fantasy cabin. I carry plastic bags and plastic containers for food and water. I always had my water container filled with ice water.

I stayed at the NewYork, NewYork Hotel. I compared it to a Carnival ship because there were lots of fun people singing and dancing at their piano bar just like on a ship. I danced until I got tired. They had a fun type disco for the younger crowd. I am a senior who still loves to dance and get loud like JLO.lol.
The hotel was very cutsy and fun to walk around in.

That hotel has a roller-coaster that even goes through the inside of the hotel. My cabin was on the 18th deck facing part of the strip and facing the roller-coaster. It shuts down at 11p.m. I go to bed by 1a.m.
I had a deluxe cabin with an "outsider" window.lol. 400sq.feet. NICE! Located near the elevator which I requested.

FOOD: I ate Mexican food, Italian food, Junk food like donuts, ice cream, pretzels, hot dogs, etc. I also had a great deli Ruben sandwich, banana, Starbucks ice coffee at the hotel.

I had a massage that was located on the strip... the hotel also had the same service. I packed my bathing suit but I never had the time to go swimming. The same thing happens to me on the ships.

NIGHT SHOWS - I don't care to see the night entertainment because it is not my personality. I hardly ever see the shows on the ships either. BUT.... you can buy discount show tickets at the Fashion Mall.

Weather - It was beautiful hot days so I would leave the hotel early in the morning so I could avoid some of the hot weather. I took a local bus to the Fashion Mall and got to visit other hotels too. Lots of tourists on the bus too.
There was a upper walk-way to visit the Excalibur hotel and the Monte Carlo was just a block away from my hotel. I went to visit my favorite hotel the Treasure Island Hotel that also has a upper walk-way that goes to the Fashion mall ...and there is a tram that goes to the Mirage Hotel that I compare to Princess ships.

Things to buy - There was a Hawaiian ABC STORE where I bought me a beautiful tote bag. Some hotels had the $10. DOLLAR STORES where everything costs $10..... just like on the Carnival ships. I bought me a Geneva brand watch there. They threw Bejor Turner jewelry out and now have another company selling the $10. dollar items.Lots of things to buy.lol.


CASINO - The hotel casino was fun to play at because I could play the slot machines and have fun just spending a few dollars. I am not a gambler. I think that Casino does pay lots of money because a lot of people were gambling there as compared to other hotels on the strip.

Land motion sickness - I don't get sea sick or air sick but I do get real dizzy on land after I cruise or fly. I felt like I was real dizzy and the hotel room was moving. I had to take a motion sickness pill to get rid of the land motion sickness. Some people have that problem like I do. This is a real problem and not my imagination.

My only reqret is that I only stayed two nights as an experiment traveling SOLO. I wasn't sure I would have such a great time. I plan to stay longer next time I cruise to LAS VEGAS! Luci

Luci - I went on that roller coaster 3 yrs ago during my last work trade show trip. It was a blast!!

Luci, glad you had such a good time. Vegas is one of our favorite land vacations!

My DD always got "land sick" when she disembarked...I don't know whether she still does or not!

I am glad that you had a good time in vegas I will be heading there myself next weekend. My neice has never been there and we are driving there for a few days . We are staying at the Monte Carlo and we are about 5 hours from there and we sometimes stay with friends in henderson and I have never stayed on the stripe in a long time SO I am looking forward to it. We are going to try and go down town also and she wants to go to a dance club so I will take her over to New York , New York to check it out.

Sounds like you had fun. We were in LV in Feb, and NY in May .we really
enjoy our time there.
