Port of Tampa hotels?

Hi All:

We are cruising out of tampa 12/08/12 and are looking for a nice reasonable hotel preferably with shuttle service to and from the airport and port.

We were able to find one with the shuttle to the port and waterfront attractions, but had to take a cab from the airport. The airport's far enough away from "downtown" that it's unlikely you'll find a free shuttle to both the airport AND the port. We stayed at the Howard Johnson Plaza-downtown riverfront, as there was some big teacher's conference eating up all the waterfront hotels. Worked out great, though--good price, shuttles to the Tampa Bay Lightning game the night before the cruise, and to the port facility day of the cruise included.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Downtown Tampa by the Convention center. They offered the free shuttle to the pier but not from the airport. They also included a very nice free cooked to order/buffet style breakfast, and a free manager's receptions in the early evening, includes beverages and snacks. We were very happy with our stay there.

We have also stayed at the Embassy Suites Convention Center Hotel -- very nice. We had to pay a flat rate of $25 for the cab to the hotel. And there wasn't a free shuttle to the dock when we were there.

We landed a great priceline rate for the Hyatt in downtown. It was very close to the port. Blue One has the best rates for shuttle service to the downtown area. Blue One Transportation shuttle service to Tampa International Airport, Port of Tampa, and hotels > Home

As others mentioned, I don't think there are any with a free shuttle from the airport to downtown. The Sheraton Riverwalk has a free shuttle to the pier.

I love the Sailport Waterfront Suites out at Rocky Point. Every suite is directly on Tampa Bay. 1 & 2 bedroom suites and both airport and cruise port shuttles.
