Are there Hawaii~Tahiti~Hawaii cruises?

Are there Hawaii~Tahiti~Hawaii cruises?

Ok - so my hubby really wants to do a Tahiti cruise. I do too, but I can't handle sitting in an airplane for the length of time needed to get there. Around the 5 hr mark the claustrophobia starts to set in. :D

So I'm hoping there is an option where we can fly to Hawaii, which is still to long of a flight for me, but I'm hoping we can fly one day to LA, spend the night, and the next day to HI. Then board the ship in HI, go around the islands, go to Tahiti and surrounding islands, then back to the islands. Then fly back to LA, spend the night, then fly home the next day.

Have any C@'s done this type of route?

Thanking you in advance for your great wealth of knowledge.

It seems to me that HAL does a round trip one at least once a year from San Diego. I believe it is about 30 days, and I've always wanted to go. I'm sure that ShipMaven will have even more details.

Now that is a cruise vacation. We were hoping Hawaii and Tahiti would be our 10th anniversary cruise in 2011. Praying hard that things will change around in this house hold and we can still do it.

Thnx Sage - we are looking for more of a two week cruise. While the thought of 30 days aboard a ship sound delicious, I'm not really sure my hubby could handle that.

Jeanie - we are looking at 2013 for this cruise...so keep it in the back of your head. :D I hope you get to do what you want to do in 2011 though for your 10th anniversary. We are stoked about our Jan 2011 Celebration cruise, so I know how you feel. Listen, if you can't do a HI-Tahiti-HI cruise in 2011, then hop on board with us in Jan 2011...(((HUGS)))

Gr8 minds think alike as mine is in the research mode as well Corky. I have looked at this itinerary MANY times as like Denny it IS also HIGH on my list. I know Princess does the RT also but its gonna require 25 - 30 days (just for the cruise) to do. Would love to do it but at this time that's a we bit too MUCH time required but someday. Enjoy the researching kiddo.

I did a little check and what I found is that you could do a Princess cruise from Hawaii to Tahiti (12 days). You could fly to Hawaii to start the trip then to avoid the very looooooooong flight home do a stopover in Hawaii for a day or two. I'd like to do something like that one day!

E - GR8 minds do think alike!! We too just can't take 30 + days for one trip. Maybe somewhere down the road we'll be able to. :)

Beryl - thanks for checking, I did see the Princess one that went HI-Tahiti, or the reverse. That may be our only hope, and I guess we could still do the flights split up, so that is good. ;)
