The body of 50-year-old Russell Christopher Walker was found inside his Pompano Beach home after police were asked to check on his welfare. According to a statement from the Broward County Sheriff's Office, the pilot had not been heard from for seven to 10 days.

The statement does not offer any details on how police believe Walker died or if there are any possible suspects for his alleged murder.

The Orlando Sentinel reports Walker was an American Airline employee based out of Miami International Airport for 18 years. American Airlines spokeswoman Martha Pantin says he was a first officer who flew Boeing 767s.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Broward CrimeStoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
