Captain's formal evenings 1 or 2 on a 7 day cruise?

We will be sailling on the Carnival triumph on the 3rd of febuary and I would like to know if anyone knows if there is 1 or 2 Captain's formal evenings on this 7 day cruise.

Are these events standard on every cuise?

I also belive I read a post that it was open bar for those people attending? Is this true? What is included and from what time to what time?

Definitely two formal nights. Pretty much the same on any seven day cruise.

You will probably find free drinks being passed around on trays, usually punch and champagne and usually hor d’oeuvres, at the Captains party which is usually held right before dinner. I don't know if you can just order anything, as I'm not a drinker and just ask for soda.)

The captain's party usually only lasts about 45 minutes, maybe one hour, then the free drinks are over.

BTW from what I understand the drinks at the party tend to kind of weak.

Edited to add: there will be two formal nights, but the Captain's Gala party is usually just on one of those nights. If I'm remembering correctly, I believe they usually have the repeat passenger party on the other formal night.
