Miracle good or bad

we are thinking about booking an 8 day on the miracle and we are not familiar with this ship. We have been on the victory, glory, and truimph. For the most part these ships are pretty similiar but the mircale seems to be set up a little different. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on it?

Thank You

Re: Miracle good or bad

I don't think the set up will cause any problems. The service and amenities are essentially the same. The difference comes in the difference in the ship class. Victory and triumph are triumph class ships, and the glory is an conquest class ship. each ship is outfitted differently, although the ships are relatively the same design within the class. The Miracle is a spirit class ship. the deck plans are definitely different, but it looks like getting around on the spirit class ships is just a smidge easier due to the elevator placements. The elevators on the spirit class ships seem to be a little more evenly spaced through the length of the ship. Overall though even with the differences in layouts there simply isn't much to make navigating the ship any more difficult.

I personally walk a thorough "get familliar" walk before embarkation. This allows time for the luggage to arrive at our room, and it gives me ample oppourtunity to familliarize myself with the ship. I usually get to the port about 4hrs before sail time. This leaves me ample time to trudge through any snafu's the boarding process may have, as well as leave plenty of time to get to know the ship. It is always nice to not have to ever feel rushed when cruising....

Re: Miracle good or bad

DH, myself, and another couple are leaving 11-13 on the Miracle celebrating our 50th anniversary. I will let you know our thoughts when we return. We cruised to Alaska on the Spirit when it was new, so expect the Miracle to be the same. Most of our cruises have been with RCCL, but I have also enjoyed the Triump & Spirit.

The Miracle is a Spirit class ship. The Spirit class is my favorite class of Carnival ships. It is easier to get around the ship because it does not have a restaurant in the middle of the ship that blocks anyone trying to go from the front to the rear. You can walk the entire length of the ship on any deck.

As you know, because of the restaurant in the center of the ship, you can not walk from the front to the rear on all the decks on the Glory, Victory or Triumph (I have also been on the Glory and Victory, but not the Triumph, which is just like the Victory).

I have booked one of the cruises to Aruba on the Miracle.

Also, some of the balconies on the Miracle are four feet deep and some are six feet deep. I recommend one of the extended balconies, as it give you more leg room when you are sitting on your balcony.

Re: Miracle good or bad

Hello Ohio Edge,

From this fellow Ohioan, let me assure you, that you will be happy with the Miracle. We just returned from a cruise on her, three weeks ago. That was our second time on the Miracle. So far I have to say she's tied with the Legend as our favorite Carnival ship.

We've cruised on the Victory twice and on the Triumph, also. We much preferred the Spirit class ships (Miracle and Legend) . Better deck plan overall, and nicer decor for sure. Definitely easier to navigate, as the others have said. The service level on the ship seems to be climbing. It was pretty good last time, but I was impressed with the smiles on the staff, and the helpfulness, which seem a notch better now. The ship itself looks in top shape. And we really enjoyed the new cruise director Malcolm. He was a big improvement over the gal they had last year when we first sailed on the Miracle.

As for the food, it was very good, but hubby and I had some bad luck with the beef selections on the dinner menu, not being as tender as we would expect. We avoided them after a few tries. The entertainment was excellent, although a disappointment for us as most big shows were repeats. The comic was new though and really funny. Don't miss him.

Re: Miracle good or bad

Spirit class ships are very popular. We enjoyed our cruise on the Miracle a few years ago.

The grape chandeliers in the Bacchus dining room were a bit much but other than that
