Re: Kitchen Sink Brownies...and cruising..

the Beauty of Kitchen sink brownies is you make them the way "you and your family" like them.
don't like coconut. or nuts or caramels ...delete them.
personally my kids love peppermint patties chunks, and heath bar chunks..on it goes.. .. I have a couple kids who do *no nuts* so 1/2 the pan has no NUTS..
as for marshmallows..they are put on towards the end..low and slow..they do not get crusty they stay creamy and mushy..
and I buy the no ingredients extra in brownies..and add the chips my family likes..it's a whole lot more economical that way..
but if you like Ghirardellis with chips, walnuts etc..that's the deal then..hope you can enjoy making however you like.toodles gang.....

Re: Kitchen Sink Brownies...and cruising..

well, on the cruise before this.. the waiter brought me some of his private stash of some chilli peppers to sprinkle on my chocolate ice cream..... it tasted wonderful.
Just as long as I keep them away from Lori.. everyone on the HAL cruise knows what happens to Lori when she gets near spicy stuff

Re: Kitchen Sink Brownies...and cruising..

I make creme de menthe brownies...the recipe is in the recipe forum. They are OUTRAGEOUSLY delish, but take forever to make them. I made them for our DS and his DW's rehearsal dinner that we had at our house because she is very Irish. I bet I could have "just as easily" made regular brownies from a mix and thrown in those Andes creme de menthe candies! I think I would like to have some brownies with something cherry....I think they make cherry creme de menthe candy around the holidays...I will have to check!

Re: Kitchen Sink Brownies...and cruising..

Red, actually there are many recipes out there with chocolate and chillies.. That sounds like something Steve would like, the hotter the better except that he would have to stay away from the brownie part because of his diabetes

Edited to add..While at the grocery store yesterday I purchased some Hershey kisses, Nestle chocolate chunks and some Heath Bar pieces as they were on sale You think that I can make these brownies non-gluten
