Complimentary 8 Day Cruise? Anyone else get this postcard?

I got a postcard today from Carnival. At least I think it’s real. It does have the real CCL logo on it ( or at least it does look like it ). I’m wondering if anyone else got anything similar? This is what the card reads.

Dear My Name

In celebration of our Grand Opening in your area,
You have been selected to receive a Complimentary 8 Day/7 Night Cruise for 2 with and outside cabin, leaving from any major port in the U.S., including New York City. Call within 48 hours. You will also receive as a bonus. 2 Roundtrip Airfares Leaving from or Going to Any Major Airport in the Continental U.S.

We have been trying to contact you (This is not a timeshare or Land Sale Offer).

And then on the left side of the postcard is a Confirmation #, my name, Port of call #1 New York City, port of call #2 Freeport, Bahamas, port of call #3 St. Thomas.than

The postcard does not say what the grand opening is. So what do you think.

Thanks Kevin

I'm sure it is a scam, but get on Carnival's website, look up their phone # and give them a call. Do not call the phone # on the card, or enter any type of www. that they give you on the card.

It is unbelievable how many scams are out there, from work at home to wining the lottery. If is to good to be true, it is not true

If you have a bird, Kevin, you can use that to help line the bottom of the cage. Or if you're paper-training your sweetheart of a puppy, add that to the paper collection.

Corky gave you an excellent suggestion.

I would wait 2 weeks and call, bet the deal is still good............

Quite a while back I irritated one of those Discovery Time Share marketers so bad that she actually hung up on me, that's hard to do

Well, I just called them. It requires listening to a 90 minute sales pitch for a new international travel service. I'm not about to sign up for anything or provide any more personal information or money. But, what the hay! My husband and I took advantage years ago of a few time share presentations and received some nice gifts and free travel adventure with our children. I'm cautious, but it is traveling via Carnival and US Air... so, I will attend their presentation on Friday and let u know!

Only thing I can say is that I've heard of people going on timeshare resort promo trips ...some enjoy, some felt really harrassed. You have to really think how you will feel if they are aboard the cruise ship still following you around pestering you to buy. On land you can get away, at sea! Well...wow...they have a captive audience!

I'll be interested to hear what happens.

I received that postcard today, Apr 4, 2011. If you look on the left side, in the very small print, it says they are not sponsored by or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines.

What was the outcome of the sales presentation?

Getting EVEN closer to suspension
My Dad signed some paperwork and received a complimentary cruise. He did not enjoy participating in the battle of the Coral Sea.

I received this card the 4th of March and we were leaving on a Carnival cruise in 2 days and left the next morning for Miami. The card got thrown away. My son called after we returned from our cruise and asked if we received a card about a cruise. He got one and he called the number and attended the promotion in Cleveland and said it was a good deal but he couldn't buy their offer because he owns a cabin in Canada and spends his vac. time there. They didn't push or hound him. They gave him the 2 free cruises of his choice and 2 flights of his choice, that he had a year to use. I called the next morning and asked if I could attend their promotion and they ask for my number on the card and I didn't have it and they said sorry I had to have the number. I am still trying to find a way to attend.. Alan
