Hey all,

Not only am I new to cruising, I'm new to forums too. So please excuse any forum faux pas I might make.

My name is Jason. I'm 36 and living in Germany with my Fiancé and 2 kids. I really want to take the family on a cruise next summer. I've only been on one cruise and that was in 1992 (it was to Hawaii and I LOVED it).

We're looking at the Eastern Mediterranean . I want to give my kids a great cruise experience, but don't want to break the bank. I'm not sure how to go about researching. If I should start by ship, or lines, or dates? It's all a little intimidating.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Welcome to Cruise @ddicts.

I would go to a Travel Agent and see what they suggest -- espeically since you have children.

Welcome aboard! You should look at Carnival or If the children are young look at Disney

Welcome to Cruise @ddicts, Jason!

You can learn a lot from the Cruiser's Compass. You can find it here:
The Cruiser's Compass

As you have children you should choose a child-friendly line.
There are for example Carnival (I'm not sure how many ships they have in Europe), Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. There are also cruise lines more oriented to Europeans, like Costa (if you dare to cruise with them after the Concordia incident...) and MSC Cruises.
I'm not sure about Aida Cruises and kids, but Aida is a German cruise line so it may suit you.

As KK said, try to find a good Travel Agent that specializes in cruises.

I am sure you will be able to find a great cruise!

/Erik
