    Hi everybody,

I am new to this board and I am new to cruising. Any helpful advice will definitely be appreciated. My wife and I are planning to dock the norwegian DAWN for 10 nights heading to Eastern Caribbean from New York City.

Being a resident of the big apple, this is great.

I was thinking of bringing 2 bottles of hard liquor by packing it in my suitcase. Does anybody know if they will confiscate my alcohol?

This looks like a fun board and I am hoping to learn from all of you about cruising.

Must be excited, you posted the same message twice.

Now why would you want to "dock the norwegian DAWN for 10 nights"? I think it would be more fun if the ship actually went somewhere.

If the NCL booze police find it while scanning your luggage through the x-ray machine, they will hold your luggage and you will have go to pick it up. After you open your luggage, they will consfiscate your alcohol.

If it's wine, they will usually charge a corkage fee of $15 per bottle of wine, and will allow you to drink it aboard. If it's the hard stuff, you will not be able to pick it up until disembarkation day.

My suggestion is to take the booze out of its origional bottle and pour it into another bottle that doesn't appear to be booze.
