Her kidneys are improving......no more dialysis. Tomorrow they are going to do a colonoscopy (hope I spelled it right) and then for the heart arhythmia (hope I spelled this one right too) they are going to put a thing down her throat that will shock her heart back into rhythm. She is not looking forward to this. Will remain in ICU for a couple of days then move to a regular room. After that she has to got to a skilled nursing facility until she can prove to them that she can get around on her own. They told her that she needs to hire a housekeeper, but is concerned about the money.

I may not get a chance to give an update tomorrow. My father is in the hospital and mom is not handling things very well. Dad fell and broke his hip on Christmas Day and its been one issue after another.

Well have mixed feelings abt this report. Hoping she keeps improving . Knowing going to extended care will be rough on here to leave her home and her furbabies. Will just hope for big improvements and she is back in here home soon.. We have good services in this area with visiting nurses and housekeepers thru Oxford and other such survices. Medicare and private insurance will usually cover this charge as long as needed. Most agencys try to keep you in home. Meals on wheels is another good service and they would help keep her on her diets with their planned meals. Mother used to receive one hot meal a day and she could buy others ahead for weekends.

My heart goes out to Connie. But she is getting the care she needs. Hope there is financial assistance for her available so she can remain at home with her fur babies. Check with her Church too.

And you take care of you also! You have a lot on your plate with so many of your family members ill.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on Connie's progress.

Sincerely hope she gets better soon. Maw has some good ideas. I know the hardest part has to be that she is away from her furbabies. Wishing the best for her.

Like others have said, it's so hard to be away from the furbabies.

The added stress of being about from her furbabies, I'm sure isn't helping her. And I can only imagine how much they miss her also! I will keep both her and you in my prayers.

I hope and pray that Connie can be done with all of this and back home again soon. I just know she must be so worried. Darn, I wish I lived closer, I'd take those cats until she gets better. I will be keeping prayers going...

  12. Connie needs to check with her village, as most have community services to help with housekeeping, transportation to doctor visits and errands to pick up perscriptions, and groceries.

Prayers continue for Connie's health to improve.
