    Thanks for the Ariticle Beryl

I'm shocked by so many children that drowned. Where were the parents of these little kids???? I would never leave my child unattended in a pool. I don't feel that it's the cruiselines responsibilitiy to keep tabs on the kids, or adults for that matter.

I have to agree with you as where are the parents. I have seen numerous times on a ship parents reading a book or sleeping on the lounge chair at the pool and not paying attention to their small ones. I used to get so upset watching these little toddlers walk around the edge of the pool and the parents not watching them. Some people should never have children! Again, the ship should not be responsible!!

Sorry to hear this. Wonder what happened to the 29 year old woman?

Of course the ship should not be held responsible. People can and do drown anywhere. The parents should be watching their kids, but so many of them don't want to be bothered. On one of our cruises a 4 year old jumped into the deeper water, and of course couldn't swim. I had to pull her out of the pool, then asked her where her parents were. They wanted to take a nap, so they sent the kid to the pool on her own. I was just happy to find out that she knew where her cabin was. and no, the parents didn't seem to care. They were already drunk, and it wasn't even lunch time yet. The Purser's desk didn't seem to care either. SICK!

While I agree with what you are saying, in this case the victim was 29 years old.
