Patti decided to try a Mocha Chocolate Getaway and gave it two thumbs up!!

At 5pm we attended the Diamond Party.....

It was held in the Grand Piano Bar. This must be the right place.....

The Diamond Party with the Captain is my favorite Diamond perk. I like to joke that I'm collecting Captains, though Captain Candeloro Donato is a repeat, since we was the Captain on my Splendor repo cruise last October. Though the invitation had said "Tea with the Captain" no one was drinking tea. The drinks were free flowing, and the snacks provided were great. The best part though, is just sitting and chatting with the Captain, the Senior Cruise Staff, our CD Malcolm, and fellow Diamond members for over an hour like we were old friends. Since there were only 8 Diamonds on this cruise, and not all attended, this gathering was quite small.....

The Diamond Party ended just in time for our 6:30 reservation at the Pinnacle Steakhouse. We always go to the Steakhouse at least one time, on the ships that have them. Here are Patti and I at the Pinnacle Steakhouse.....

Though we both know exactly what we are going to order, we love to let our waitress give us the entree presentation.....

I had two orders of the Portobello mushrooms.....

Patti also had the shrimp cocktail.....

Patti had the Caesar salad, which was prepared tableside.....

Patti had the Maine lobster for her main.....

She had a baked potato with all the trimmings....

I had the 18 oz. spice rubbed ribeye, cooked medium, with the wasabi mashed potatoes.....

At this point we were both so stuffed that we decided to have very light desserts. Patti ordered the fruit plate, which she took back to the cabin.....

I had the homemade mango sherbert, which was fantastic.....

What a GREAT meal. To top it off, we were told that the Food and Beverage Manager had paid for our wine. We would be sure to thank him when we saw him.

We could barely move we were so stuffed, so we took a nice romantic moonlight walk on the upper decks. There was a full moon out tonight. It was simply gorgeous.....

Since we knew we would be having a busy day tomorrow, we decided to call it an early night, and make our way back to the cabin. Tonight's towel animal was waiting for us.....

It was another great day. Sorry for the lack of pictures today, but the cameras were resting up for their big day tomorrow! Lol.

Coming up next: Grand Turk. Did I get my cabana?

    Those lobsters look delicious.

I won't eat them on HAL -- small, chewy and salty.

Today we will be arriving in Grand Turk.....

We were up at 7:30, to what looks like is going to be a beautiful day. Again, the seas were pretty calm. We are due to arrive at the Grand Turk Cruise Center at 9:00am.....

Here is the eye in the sky which is above our balcony, and another reason to be careful on what you are doing on your balcony! Lol.....

I grabbed the camera and made my way to the upper decks to watch us arrive in Grand Turk. On the way I passed one of the hot tubs on deck 10 by the Splendido Pool.....

Patti and I leave the ship.....

Once through the Cruise Center, Patti and I will part company for a couple of hours, as she has booked an island tour. Now the million dollar question is did we score a cabana? The answer is....no! I plan to secure a couple of loungers under a palm tree on the beach by the flowrider, and Patti will meet me there after her tour. Patti has taken our Sony camera with her to document her tour, so I have the water camera. We will get back to Patti and her tour later in this segment, meanwhile I took these shots as I walked through Margaritaville.....

Margaritaville is still pretty deserted at this time. Here are a couple views of the swim up bar.....

This end of the pool you can just walk in.....

The Flowrider will be active later on.....

We now switch it back to Patti. This is the island tour she will be taking this morning.....

    THE GRAND TURK EXPERIENCE

    EXCURSION DETAILS

Discover the highlights of Grand Turk on this guided island drive.

    On this excursion, you will:

Ride past the former United States Air Force Tracking Base and see a replica of Astronaut John Glenn's Friendship 7 space capsule.

See several 18th century churches, beautiful Bermudan-style buildings, and salt ponds.

Possibly see wild horses and donkeys freely roaming the streets. Enjoy a brief stop to see the 150+ year old working lighthouse.

Visit "The Salt House" a recreated 17th century saltpan that chronicles the history of the salt and slave industry.

    Taste some local snacks.

Proceed to the Bohio Resort where you can enjoy the laid back island atmosphere or snorkel, if you wish.

Return to your ship at the designated time or stay at the beach and return at your leisure in the free shuttle bus.

Note: The shuttle bus departs the beach every 30 minutes. Beach chairs and snorkel gear are available for rent at the beach.

The cost of this excursion is $45.99 per person, and the tour lasts for 1 & ½ hours. This is the Grand Turk Experience tour bus.....

Golf carts are available to rent outside the gates of the Cruise Center.....

The bus has left the Cruise Center.....

The tour bus is approaching the Grand Turk Airport Terminal.....

You would think that they would keep the tour bus windows clean.....

Passing by the Friendship 7 monument.....
