Any thefts from cabin?

Have any of you have ever had anything taken from your cabin? I've only had this problem once, and it was (of all things) 2 new bottles of nail polish which I had purchased in port. My sister-in-law (same cruise) had 3 bottles of perfume taken from her cabin. Just wondering if you've had any problems of this sort.

Also, are there safes in AOS cabins?

We had some stuff taken out of a duffel bag. It was the last night when we put the bags/luggage out. When we got the luggage when we got off the ship we noticed the side pockets were open. Everything that was in the side pockets was taken. But this was on Carnival a couple of years ago.

Nothing at all, and we have been on 21 cruises. And yes, there are safe's in your cabin.

We will soon be cruising for the 10th time, and we have never had anything taken. But, we are very diligent about putting anything of value in our safe. Just use some caution, and you will be fine.

    Happy Cruising!!

I asked my grandma, who's cruised 20+ times and she said the only time it happened was on a cruise in Russia years ago.

nothing on 8 cruises. we always lock our suitcases when they are being loaded/unloaded. we take no chances and put money and jewellery in the safe.

It's good to hear that most folks haven't had any problems. The things taken which I mentioned, were actually taken from our cabin. I've never had a problem on any other cruise.
    Cruise on!

Been on 3 RCL cruises and have never had anything taken....we lock up $$, jewlery and small cameras, but the video camera was left out and never taken....like said before, just lock up what you can and you should be fine.....

12 cruises and nothing taken. We also put what we can in the safe. Anything else semi-valuable I put in the suitcase and slide it under the bed.

We had 2 compact flash cards for our digital camera taken from our stateroom on the Brillance last year. The cards are replaceable but the 500 vacation photos missing are priceless.

Oh Laura, I sympathize. My husband was using our video camera for business and forgot to lock the car as he was checking into a hotel. When he returned to the car, the camera was gone. Christmas video of our grandchildren was in the camera bag.

The bingo caller on MOS actually commented on something along these lines. He said the first thing he hears from people when boarding the ship is "Is there somewhere that I can lock up my valuables in the room" By the last night of the cruise, he jokes, these people are just willingly putting all their belongings in the hallways. He was joking that the crew always seemed to be getting new clothes on those nights....

19 cruises and nothing taken. And here's a nice and true story. After a day of bus touring Cartegna, my husband noticed his MasterCard was gone. He'd had it in his pocket and thought he might have accidentally pulled it out when getting a fresh film canister. We talked to our tour bus guide who assured us that "someone would turn it in if found." We did not share his confidence and upon returning to the ship cancelled the card. (I keep photocopies of cards we take with us in a safe place, so making the call was pretty easy.) Next morning, on my way to the bathroom, I noticed a small square object had been slid under the door. It was my husband's charge card! I don't know who found it, but they must have turned it in to the purser's desk. We contacted MasterCard again. No unauthrorized charges had been made and they reinstated the card.

What a wonderful story! It's so nice to know that there are still honest folks among us. Thanks for sharing.

Only been on two cruises with the third coming up in December. On the last one in August, I left a huge cupful of quarters I had won in the casino in the vanity and it wasn't touched at all. As for the person who said they locked their suitcase, I don't believe you are allowed to lock your suitcases anymore for security reasons at the airport, are you?
