balconies on Serenade

Quick curiosity question: When looking at deck plans, we noticed that a couple forward rooms on the 7th floor of the Serenade of the Seas appear to have twice the balcony size of other rooms in their category. However, the category descriptions for those particular rooms still state the standard 41 SF for balconies. Anybody out there know why this might be? Are we just wishfully thinking that we'll get a larger balcony because it looks that way on the deck plan? On that class of ship, we tried to avoid the middle sections because the life boats are directly below the 7th floor, and from pictures, it looks like they block the view straight below to the water. Thanks for any help, fellow cruisers!

I have this picture from Jewel of the Seas of some balconies in the aft part on deck 7.

As you can see the balconies are bigger than the other balconies. I think it is the same with some forward balconies (I don't have a good picture of them). The "wall" between each balcony seems to be as wide as on the other balconies, thus a part of the balcony is more or less open to the neighbouring balcony. A part of the balcony is also visible from the decks above which can be seen in this picture (also from Jewel).

The view straight down is blocked even from the balconies in the forward/aft part of the ship.

    Funnel,

Thanks for posting the cool pictures. Shows us exactly what to expect. What we were originally worried about was the glare of the sun off the roof over the lifeboats. Looks like, even though there is still an obstruction below, we can maybe avoid the hot, blinding glare. We're looking forward to having a slightly larger balcony.

I hope you booked a balcony in the forward part.
My earlier photos, from Jewel, was from the aft part. I have been looking closer on some other photos I have from Jewel and have observed that balconies in the forward part of deck 7 does NOT have onstructed view down to the sea.
    This can be seen here:

I hope I didn't mess things up for you, with my earlier photos. :duh:

Wow! Thanks for your picture, Funnel! I haven't been back on this site for a while, so I didn't know you had posted another shot of the 7th floor on Jewel. We indeed booked in the forward part of the ship, and on port side, which is your picture's perspective. How cool is that? Thanks to you, we are able to see the exact location of our future stateroom's balcony. So glad the view won't be obstructed at all.

I'm glad you booked in the forward part! It looks nice with the bigger balconies and unobstructed view of the ocean.

I am sure you will have a great cruise!
