Just off Carnival Miracle today. This had to be the best cruise I have ever taken. The only thing that could have made it better was if my husband and son came with me. I sailed with a friend and other family members because my husband doesn't care for cruising.

Embarking: Arrived at the pier in NYC which was about a 45 minute drive from my house around 11:30 AM. This was a disaster. It was not a pleasant experience. There were 4 ships leaving that same day. The Miracle the Victory, Celebrity and The Queen Mary 2. I am not sure if the Queen Mary 2 was what made it so crowded. The people from the previous cruise June 12-19 were still getting off the ship after 1:00 pm on the Miracle so obviously we did not board until 2:00 PM. Once we were on line to board it moved quickly thankfully. At this point it was pretty painless. I guess the waiting and crowds made it very unpleasant. Once upon the ship we went directly to our cabin Empress Deck 6150. The cabin was large and plently enough room for the two of us. Plently of storage space. We booked an 8A Gty and were in an 8D Empress Balcony cabin. I would never go back to having no balcony again I absolutely loved it. There was 2 soft terry robes and a basket of goodies...tylenol, shavers, rolaids, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. There is also 2 dispensers in the shower for soap (leaver 2000) and shampoo. There was also a blow dryer in the cabin. Met our room steward her name was Felecia. She was very pleasant and always had a smile on her face. We gave her $20 on the first day and told her it was in addition to our tip on the sail and sign card. We also gave her another $20 half way through the cruise. She was worth it. We were expecting to meet my sister in law, her hubby and two daughters (15 and 18). They didn't arrive to the ship until around 2:00 and they said their wait to get on was very very bad. Shortly after we were in our cabin we went up to the Lido deck for lunch. The lunch buffet was great. No complaints at all. The corned beef sandwich was incredible. I think I ate them about times throughout the cruise. Surprisingly we were not bombarded with drink specials like my previous cruise. Because of the late debarkmentation of the previous cruise it put us behind and we did not leave port until around 5:45 pm. We were supposed to leave at 4:00. We had the late dinner seating on the first level (deck 2). This was different than other ships I have been on. There is usually 2 dining rooms one at each end. I think this was better. Our headwaiters name was Ben and his assistant Martina. Those two were the bomb. I could not have had better service. Even the bar waitress for our table was the best I ever had. On the 2nd night she had my drink waiting for me at the table. Ben our waiter remembered that I liked the end cut of beef. I had asked for that one night with prime rib and another night there was Chateau Briannn (spelling??) and I did not ask but he brought it to me. This team made my dining experience a pleasure. The food was wonderful. No complaints at all. If we wanted 2 entrees we had it. Anything we wanted we received. Ken the Maitre'd was the best I have ever seen. He sang a song every night which I never even heard of a maitre'd singing.
On previous cruises I sometimes never even knew who the maitre'd was. We had a table for 6 at the very back of the ship at the window PERFECT!!! Never made it to the midnight buffet because of the late dinner seating.

On to the Cruise Director. Tod. What can I say expect PERFECTION. He was personable, funny, entertaining, energenic and not to mention very nice to look at. He kind of reminds me of Ryan Seacrest from American Idol. This man truly loves his job and u can tell.

Shows.....comedians nightly. Very funny. We went to the late adult shows. They had the comedians also do the earlier shows for familys. Hypnotist Show was hysterical. My sister-in-law was hypnotized and this made it extremely funny for me. The best show was Ticket to Ride a tribute to the beatles DO NOT MISS THIS. Great show.

Casino....I did spend a lot of time in the casino. Jill the Casino host was unbelievable. She even bought me drinks on several occassions which I had heard from other posters did not happen. Untrue. If they see u playing they do pamper u with perks. I used the sail and sign card for the slot machines and received points. I got the points up to over 10,000 and on my next cruise I will be able to book my cruise directly though a special players package.

Ports.....Port Canaveral YUK YUK YUK I had no interest in even getting off the ship at this one so opted to stay on the ship and sit at the pool while most guests left and made the pools very nice without all the kids. Nassau...we had a comp room at the Atlantis...AWESOME....having this room enabled us to swim in the lagoon, walk through the Dig, use the pools and slides have lunch for free and use a beautiful room to rest and change and even shower. Freeport....didn't get off the ship at this port either. This was the day I decided to sleep in late. We were only in port from 7Am until 1PM. I did not care for this itinerary. could have spent more time in Nassau and did away with Port Canaveral. Days at sea were great. Plently of activities. There was 900 kids on this cruise but I think camp carnival did a great job in keeping them occupied. There was an incident that I saw that was....a boy around 10 years old in the bar connected to the casino....sitting at the slot machine at the bar playing...the bartender did nothing. I think we embarrassed the grandmother talking loudly how wrong it was what she was letting him do.

Debarking: Chose the self help option on leaving the ship. We were off in 45 minutes. They let us wait in our cabins until we were called unlike any other cruise I had taken. They always made us wait in one of the show rooms. Not the case here. Great debarking this way.

This ship and cruise was perfect. I had an extremely wonderful time and can't wait until my next cruise. People will always have something to complain about. I don't like the pink lights the carpet needs cleaning etc. To hell with all that over look those things if they exist. I have nothing to complain about. I went on vacation to have a good time and that is exactly what I did.

I have copies of most of the capers and I can email them once I scan them in.

    Cole,
What a great review...........just back today 6/26 also from the Miracle! Sorry we didn't get to meet on board!!!!!!! What a disaster trying to get to the ship and then the boarding. You pointed out that there were four ships..........lol I think five just to make your description even more distressing to understand. It took us less than an hour to get into the city for embarkation and then another hour and a half just to get from the tunnel to 55th St. then we crawled literaly to the berth for the Miracle. You described the folks disembarking and then folks on line awaiting boarding so I won't proliferate on the subject accept to say that it was really a mess. We were Empress deck also # 1675 balcony suite. Best stateroom design we have ever had plus a wonderful large balcony! Our steward was wonderful, personable and always there to please! We have had the Butlers service on some other cruises and our steward was far above and beyond any of those butlers. Disembarking was a breeze....we were right behind you with VIP passes for our group.
I agree with you about the ports. We stayed on board also for Canaveral and enjoyed the Lido Pool etc. With so many families with children Canaveral was a highlight and the same for those that went to Disney or Universal.
We also enjoyed the Deli and the corned beef sandwich on embarkation :>)!
The dining venues on board are unbelievable! Horatio's Deck 9 amazing with the Deli, Pizza station, Oriental Station, Theme of the Day stations , Desert station, Fruit station ......breakast with Omelet stations etc. Never really any long lines just a few minutes and you could serve yourself whatever your heart and stomach desired. Flat ware and real napkins on the tables along with condements. Clean up service outstanding. 2600 PAX!!!!!!!!!!! 900 were children !!!!!!!!!!!!! crew 900+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dining room was great..........fun and our table #230 lower (near you Cole) was great. Our waiter WEE WEE and his assistantant from Slovinia were fantastic......just as you mentioned...........they remebered all the particulars like the wines, bar person for us, special mozzarella salad and cheese on the table every night etc. etc. How about the wait staff entertainment...........they were great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Along with Maitre D Ken of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best meal I had in the dining room was the Chateaubriand .....with "lots" of Bernaise..............yum!
We also dined at Nick and Nora's.................outstanding dinners twice..........If anyone is a beef eater or enjoys surf and turf you must go..........The atmosphere is elegant, a pianst and vocalist that are really good. Service impeccable!!!!!!!!!! The meat aged and cooked to perfection both times...........I love a Porterhouse and especially when cooked so perfectly to my liking..........right on the money and my husbands Filet was also perfect, with succulent flavor!
Loved the shows........especially the Beatles review..........doesn't get much better. Loved the country line dancing class and swing dancing (John Travola moves etc.) laughed so hard I couldn't consentrate.
Carnival Idol contest was so much fun and WOW what talented people on board!!!!!!!!!!!!
Todd Wittmar, Cruise Director, is an outstanding young man...........his energy, sincerity and enthusiam etc. are truely an asset to the "Carnival Anthem"
You mentioned the Casinol............wow! Again some unbelievable venue...........I won $32.00 :>%

Folks in our group that had children in Camp Carnival said the children couldn't wait to go there............all had a fun, safe, supervised time.
If I had any complaints they really havent surfaced yet as I am still in the bubble of having such a wonderful time on such a huge, magnificent ship. Never felt a bump...........missed the feeling of being on the sea............my husband was thrilled as he took off the Sea Bands second day!
One thing I have to mention is that this was our frist Carnival Cruise........Fun Ship Cruise. We were with a large group of 250 people..........NJCPA's. We had special venues as a group to attend etc. but also had tons of free time to enjoy all the amenities of the ship ..........spa, pools, dance, casino etc. etc.
We have cruised on the RCCL, HA,Radisson and Crystal ships. Our Miracle cruise and the many creature comforts as far as stateroom size and amenities plus the many venues offered to all folks no matter what you are looking for on a cruise agenda were outstanding. Itinerary was OK .........loved just staying on board but those that ventured out for the shore excursions all had a great time. Something for everyone type of cruise.
The shopping...........Yellow Brick Road............never saw such a gallery of shops and good prices etc. on boad a ship.
How about the icecream , coffee bar, sushi bar and the magnifcent Atrium......hard to believe your on a ship!
I must go.............hope we can put our thoughts together here for folks interested in the Carnival Miracle!!!!!

I would love a copy of the capers. We are going on the miracle on 8/7.
I do have a few question; Did you contact carnival to tell them you positive expirences? And also did you tell them about the carpet cleaning? If they do not hear from people, why would they do it so fast. Last year on the victory we did notice some carpet stains in the hallway by our cabin. We notified carnival and they were going to look into it.
Thanks in advance for sending a copy of the capers.

there was not dirty carpets on the miracle. I used that as an example of how people complain over the dumbest things. Like who would make a dirty carpet ruin their vacation? believe it or not it does to some people. Those people need to have more fun in their lives i think.

I filled out the comments card and made them totally aware of how awesome a cruise it was an pointed out the people who made it that way......JILL, TOD, FELECIA AND BEN

going on miracle 8/21 - thank god i did not pick 8/28 as they have cancelled that o ne - i am on the verandah deck - would love capers too = email PColavito@DumontMasonicHome.org - if possible - u probably had a hard t ime getting on ship - like u said once the queen mary is in, everything is hectic - are there refrigerators in the room - also we have big luggage, is there storage for that in the room - we have a balcony room - love to hear more about the miracle if anyone else has been on it - also i know u can't wear jeans in the dining rooms and i am assuming the shows at night u can't wear them either? we are casual people but we are going to do the formal night - but when i am on vacation, i like to wear comfortable clothes but formal night should be nice - how is the video they do on the ship of everyone - we also want to get a horse and dress it up - don't forget the capers

Lefty......every night after dinner we changed into comfy clothes...(jeans,shorts,whatever) At the shows their is a mix of dress...some come from dinner all dressed up, some change after dinner...either is acceptable... Their is a fridge but it's a wet bar. You have to ask the room stewart to unlock it.. We did drink the sodas and some of the alcahol from it..That gets costly because they charge you a 15% re-stocking fee.. But, I LOVED the fact I was able to have a drink or a soda when I wanted it.. What the heck...it's vacation!!!!!!

Victoria is correct. After the formal nights I changed after dinner into comfy clothes. For the shows jeans are fine although I didn't bring any I mostly wore capris. I think it is to warm for jeans at that time of year. As for storage........tons. I had a very large suitcase and it fit right under the bed never even saw it again until i had to pack it. There is plenty of storage space for two in a balcony cabin. I think the Miracle kind of spoiled me and I am thinking about taking another cruise on her next June and I am so excited they changed the itinery for next summer. I will have to pay extra for air but for the new itinery it will be worth it. I am getting the heebie jeebies already and need to book a new cruise lol

Great reviews's. Thank you to both of you. Will be traveling with myself, my wife, and 2 of our children on August 21st. Daughter 16 and son 11. Veranda belcony forward. It is getting so close I can smell the sea air, boy do I miss that. Sounds like the debark is going to be a bit intence, glad we booked a limo to take us downstate to the shipyard. We will be traveling down from an hour west of Albany, New York, so we figured it would pay off for us to have someone else drive us, and we can just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. I will be emailing you for some of those capers, so we know what to expect. Again, thanks for the reviews, sure makes us feel good about our booking.
