OK guys, Son needs to know how much the casino will be open during our round trip Alaska Cruise on the Infinity. It leaves out of Seattle on July 16th. I think I remember that the ship muxt be in "international waters" for it to open. I have no idea where international waters begin.

Sorry about the dumb question, I'm just not very interested in the casino at the best of times.

Not a casino person either but it seemed to me to be open almost anytime we were NOT in port in August.

Edited to Add ...

Gambling is not legal in the state of Alaska. However, the cruise lines will open the casino during the period when you are sailing in the international waters around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. At all other times, the casino will be closed. I believe the key words depending on your itinerary are most likely <INTERNATIONAL WATERS> so its best probably if U check the daily paper while onboard as the hours of operation will most likely be spelled out there. :egyptian:

When you leave Seattle they go like crazy to hit BC as quick as they can. lol.
Will open shortly after dinner. Don't worry.. As I understand the route for the Infinity north through the Inside passage you will be fine until you hit up into Alaska. Not sure what happens there..

Coming back you enter into Washington Waters as you hit the Strait of Yuan de Fuca. If your stop is in Victoria on the way back they may open after you leave there if they stay in BC waters and then head for WA and Seattle for the next morning. Not sure though.
In the Strait the inbound traffic travels in WA so they can not open. If you were going out the Strait (West) you would travel in BC and it would be open.

On an Alaskan cruise the casino's will open up anywhere from a half hour to an hour after you leave the ports. They will close in ports or when you go into any of the national parks to see the glaciers. There will be plenty of time to spend in the Casino's.

My wife has never had any trouble finding time to donate our money to the casino's on an Alaskan cruise.

Have been to Alaska on 2 different cruise lines.

The casino opened within 1/2 hour of our leaving a port.

Believe me -- they want your money!!
