The wife wants to take some formal photos of the family on our cruise out of New Orleans on the Spirit. Will we be the only ones in tuxes on NCL? Do they even have a formal night?

you will not be the only ones but one of the few. You will see people getting formal pix taken in suits and cocktail dresses but not too many in Tux. they have 2 formal optional nights.

Susan and I are pretty traditional when it comes to cruising and that includes formal night.

On Disney Wonder the second night out was "Pirate Night" instead of formal night. We dressed in our formalwear anyway and were the only ones on board that did. Didn't bother us one bit.

If you want to dress formal, I say go for it :spyglass:

Go for it. If you feel out of place oh well, your will look a lot classier than everyone else. Thats what the freestyle cruising with NCL is all about.

I am retired navy and now a cadet instructor and if I can still fit into my mess kit jacket, I am quite sure that the lady friend and I will be getting formal pictures taken on our cruise on the Spirit in March.

    Cheers!
