Yes, I was doted upon by the dining room staff on SS Seabreeze in 1993. I was three months pregnant with PizzaBoy and a tall glass of milk was delivered to me upon taking my seat at our table every night after the first. The waiter made me an origami swan for the baby, which I still have.

Have you ever cruised on a ship that was more than ten years old?

Yes, we were on the Grand Princess in 2011 and she was built in 1998. She was still in pretty good shape, but was getting ready for the big refit.

Have you ever NOT been able to find something to eat?

There's always SOMETHING. I'm not big on the buffet as I'm not a salad or sandwich person or boring roast beef carving etc.. BUT on HAL.. they have a great sambal spicy sauce which makes anything taste better and they often have an Asian dish I like..if not..zap a stirfry with sambal and YUM.

Has your ship ever broken down and you stayed in port longer than usual? or at sea?

Okay I got completely out of order!

No! I've been lucky!

Do you like to visit the private islands of these cruise lines?

No, we never watched a movie under the stars, only because we already saw that movie.

Have you ever been to a wine tasting on the ship?

I have not been to a tasting (wine stuffs me up and gives me a headache) but my better half (aka the Admiral, aka Susie) has. More as a fun group activity I think than to learn about wine.

Have you ever NOT met and seen your cabin attendant at least a few times during the week? We were on one cruise where he introduced himself the first day and we never saw him again. Cabin and our needs were well taken care of but never saw him.

Yes, Actually there was one cruise where we only saw our cabin attendant once. Our cabin was always tidy and attended to.

Have you ever attended a cooking demonstration on the ship?

Yes indeed! Don't know why I don't like to cook...oh yes, I dragged DH along with me! I do like to eat and he cooks!

Why do you choose to cruise for your vacation?

We choose to cruise for many reasons. The main reason is my DH likes the idea of getting on the ship and letting the Captain do the driving. We enjoy our at sea resort.

Do you ever do your own excursions, or do you always do the ship excursions?

We do both, if we been there a few times we most likely will go on our own

Ever but anything at Art auction??

No...never bought anything but I do like to go once in awhile. It is interesting to learn about different artists. What I do have from an art auction is a numbered print. It was a free gift for everyone who attended on a particular date. It cost me the $10.00 (or whatever it was for shipping) and is children playing on a California Beach. DH had it framed for me at Christmas that year. I love and treasure it for many reasons!

Do you ever skip formal nights in the dining room and if you do where do you choose to have your dinner? Room Service, Buffet, alternative restaurant or do you do something special like the Ultimate Balcony Dinner that Princess offers??

Yes -- we have skipped formal nights in the dining room -- we go to a specialty restaurant where you still have to dress formal. (I think I answered this before??)

Have you ever ordered room service for dinner? (Hope this hasn't been asked.)

Well...I haven't given an answer to this question. YES, we have ordered room service for dinner. Ate it on our balcony and it was lovely. We had returned late from a port and just didn't feel like getting ready for dinner. We have also enjoyed the Ultimate Balcony Dinner on Princess and while this is an upcharge we loved it and will do it again on our next cruise!

Have you ever taken or considered taking a river cruise....I'm seriously considering one for down the road and would love to hear the experiences of anyone who has taken one!

YES...major considering a river cruise to get more of an experience of the country by walking off the boat! A friend of ours got a steal on one from Paris last year and she was trying to get the same for us this year but I guess business picked up and it wasn't offered. We'd planned to take a Mediterranean cruise for our 25th in 2015 and now I'm pushing for this. My friend said that it was amazing to have the tours included and walkable from the boat.. many times students in the area who were passionate about their talks and very personable. She loved hers.. Beryl, if you want to know that company, I'll find more details for you. I've lost touch with another friend who enjoyed hers and not sure of that company but if I can figure out a way to reach her to say hi, I will ask her too.

Are you seeking out new "thrills" because cruising is getting a little too predictable? I noticed Celebrity is digging up a few lesser seen islands in 2014... will that entice you?

Never sailed in baloney! :boogie: Yes, inside, outside, balcony, mini suite and full suite! ....definitely love the suite...would never sail in and inside or plain outside again. It is really important to me to be able to get fresh air into our cabin!

Have you ever pre tipped your steward so you would get better service? If you did how do you know you got better service???

No, not a big fan of that... tip is for service performed. ON that note, hubby and I were just discussing this the other day and thought it might be nice to do bonus tipping as service is performed, daily, so they see we do appreciate good service. In the old days, we liked the farewell and to hand the tips over to our steward and waiters but now that it is automatically charged, we never see the steward and now we don't do the main dining room fixed time dining so it isn't personal.

As the ship is leaving port to begin your cruise, do you still go to the sailaway party after many cruises or your cabin, or to go win from the spa draws or... :)

We favor toasting the sailaway from our balcony, or from our friends' balcony if we're traveling with others. Sailaway parties have lost a lot of their charm for us over the years.

Ever spend "naked time" on the balcony?
