I HAVE BEEN KEEPING TRACK OF ALL COMMERCIAL SHIPS THAT ARRIVE IN THE PORT OF NY/NJ/CT FOR THE PAST 18 YEARS AND THIS IS MY SECOND TRIP ON A PASSENGER SHIP OUT OF NYC I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT MY FIRST ONE WAS ON THE CARNIVAL TRIUMPH GOING FROM NYC TO HALIFAX
3 YEARS AGO I SAILED ROYAL CARIB. OUT OF NYC TO BERMUDA, THE SEA WAS A LITTLE ROUGH. A CO-WORKER SAILED NCL OUT OF NYC A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO,
HE SAID HE HAD A GREAT TIME, THAT THIS WAS THE BEST CRUISE HE AND HIS WIFE HAVE EVERY TAKEN. I JUST WANTED A SECOND OPTION.

Hi, we are taking this cruise August 31th 2004 and staying in an AF minisuite. I've read a lot of reviews and haven't seen anything regarding rough seas. FYI: I don't know if you have school-aged children (we have 2), but Labor Day in 2004 is Sept. 6th and the rates go down considerably for the week we are "cruising" (def. worth the minisuite)... (School in New York starts after Labor Day.)
Also, I read somewhere that the minisuites on Deck 11 toward the back have balconies with only "partial privacy" because their partition is on a slant. Middle-front is supposedly better.
Travelocity seemed to have the best rate, but I went through a travel agent and saved another $100. Good Luck!
P.S. The Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas is also sailing out of NY, but the price for an oceanview room (porthole) is almost $5000 on a decent deck.
