Is there a website where I could find out which cabins are still available on a ship?

Just wondered if there is some place I could check regarding which cabins are still available on a ship. Was trying to avoid calling a travel agent just yet - need to check several ships and hate to tie agent up looking at several different ships. Just thought it would be easier if I could do it myself. Thanks for any info!

I do it a couple ways. One is going to the cruiseline website and go through the process of booking without actually finalzing it. Some allow you to select a cabin to see if it's still available. Another way is to go with a online travel agency like travelocity. They display a list of available cabins when selecting a cabin category.

To add on to what Maureen said, you don't have to give personal information on travelocity.com. It's great way to check what's available without having someone call and hound you!

I never officially sign onto a site. I just start pretending that I am going to book a cruise -- cabin numbers will pop up. Gives me a good idea of what is available.

Most travel agent websites and sites like Travelocity and Expedia only show up to 15 cabins per category...
I found this one--a British site--that appears to show ALL the cabins...

    www.seascanner.com

Just find your cruise with the "cruise finder" at the top of the page, then click on "availability" and it will give you a list of the available categories...

Click on each category separately and it will bring up deck plans with all of the available cabins showing as little red squares...

This is the easiest site I've found on which to find ALL available cabins...

    Hope this helps...

One additional note...To be really thorough, input each category with BOTH 2 and 3 passengers and compare the listed cabin numbers...
The cruise lines don't like to book triples and quads to parties of two, saving them for the people who need them, so, a lot of those cabins don't show up on the list when you just input 2 passengers...

Thanks Steve. That's a great tip, about checking for different numbers of people in the cabin. I never would have thought of that.
