Korina could use a few prayers

Discussion in 'The Safe Harbor' started by korinalacount, Nov 14, 2008.

  1. Yesterday I got a call from Korina. She thought that she was having a stroke, as she lost feeling in her right leg. The paramedics that arrived determined that it wasn't a stroke and that we should go to the emergency room. after sitting there in a room for about 2hrs we saw a doctor. after blood tests, a cat scan and a ultrasound the couldn't find anything wrong. They figured it was a pinched nerve. The doctor said that if things weren't better to call the neurologist the next day. Well it got worse she now can't feel from the waist down and we are waiting for the neurologist to come in a 8:00AM. That is all I know will keep you posted when I find out anything. John

  20. Korina is home, she has a distended disk and sciatica which caused the total numbness to her legs, she is still in great pain and is on morphine and percocet and ipuprofin. She had surgery several years ago for a broken tailbone and that is the area injured, all she did was get up from a couch and twisted something wrong. So no stroke, cat scan confirmed that,no blood clots, ultrasound confirmed that,no infection or diabetes,no brain tumors, just a very bad back again. She is not allowed to walk(she cant anyway) or do anything for days then must go to a back doctor for treatments,pt and therapy, they dont think she will need surgery this time unless she doesnt recover properly. It was a very scary time, all 3 kids were with her as well, and they are all getting together to make Thanksgiving happen for her this year, they are cooking! I just got her meds, and a new Stephen King book so when she can stand to sit up she has something to read. Thanks for all the kind and wonderful posts,we surely needed them. John
