thanks for your updates Mary ANN i also like eating all the meals I can in dinning room you get to meet a lot of interesting people and I like to be pampered. Most of the time you only can do it on sea days I love going to tea also in the afternoon.
If you check out the Bridge cam, you’ll see that we’re back to choppy seas.
For some reason, I didn’t sleep very well last night. Happens to all of us every now and then.
I brought my camera to breakfast and lunch today. Unfortunately, I can’t upload until I return home, but I photographed the lox and bagel Crystal Style as well as a DELICIOUS seafood salad for lunch - crab meat, jumbo shrimp, bay shrimp on a bed of lettuce with green and yellow pepper rings, hard boiled egg quarters. I still haven’t tasted meat since embarking!
Today, I found and bought the photo with the Captain at the Welcome Aboard party. I had to chuckle inwardly - the quality of photo is exceedingly high, and it comes in two parts (beautifully done). The cost is MUCH LESS than on other lines. I browsed through the shops - they have some gorgeous articles of clothing for ladies at a fraction of the cost of items of far lesser quality on other lines. And these were regular price, not reduced price “secondsâ€Â.
The casino got its revenge on me today - my slot machine ate my $$. I’m still ahead all in all, but that winning feeling wasn’t there.
Mary Ann I'm so glad that you are continuing to have a wonderful time. It's nice to know that Crystal continues with their quality and devotion to service. Are you in a Butler suite this time, and if so, would you comment on the quality of service and care?
You're killing Leon with the references to your bagel and lox - his absolute favorite breakfast! He's having severe withdrawl, knowing that he won't get good lox until August. I might have to order some from Taku Smokeries in Juneau for him to keep him happy until then. Keep having a nice time and give that penny slot machine a piece of your mind!
Mary Ann, it's those losses at the casino that keep the shop prices down!
When we were on the Millie last year, Gordon ate brie and salmon every single breakfast. He loved it. When we came home, he did that for several days. He had to slowly ween himself off... Hopefully, Princess has the same so he can get hooked again!
Mary Ann, I can't tell you what a wonderful escape from my reality it is when I check in on your lovely cruise tales. Makes me want to follow that Duck Crew in August right onto that ship and head to Alaska. But with my luck they would be having some kind of cold snap up there and I would still be baby b u t t bald and I would absolutely freeze. LOL
Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. I'll compose off-line after dinner tonight and bring you up-to-date on today's activities.
Mari - I have tears in my eyes reading your note. Thank you, dear Lady. If you were able to make the Duck Crew cruise, we would welcome you with open arms! I know several wackos who would love to share their wigs! :grin
Spent the afternoon working - the cocktail party for the group I’m hosting was this evening, and it was a resounding success, thank goodness.
As for the casino loss (boo-hoo), we need to keep this in perspective. I played 2+ days on $5.00. I don’t think I can complain.
Let’s see - dinner report. I started out with excellent caviar with traditional condiments of cooked egg yolk and egg white, and lemon - chilled and served with mother-of-pearl spoon. Yummmm. Then I finally gave in and had meat - tender lamb chops that literally could be cut with the fork. They were served with a number of different veggies and mint sauce. Another yummmmm. Our Table Captain also brought some seafood risotto for all to sample. Well, I LOVE risotto. More yummmmmmm. Tahitian vanilla creme brulee for dessert. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Tonight’s featured entertainer was Dale Kristien, who sang opposite Michael Crawford in Phantom of the Opera for 5 years, both on Broadway and in Los Angeles. Beautiful performance! Afterwards, I went into the casino - found a different penny slot machine…and…$5.00 turned into $20.00. I’m happy with that!!!
Tomorrow (Friday) evening, I’m invited to a private cocktail party in the Captain’s quarters.
Off to bed now, but before doing so…
Bev - in answer to your question, I’m certain you remember my telling you prior to your Crystal cruise that everybody on Crystal receives the same superb service, from the Crystal Penthouse to an obstructed ocean view. Nothing has changed.
Thanks Mary Ann for the continued reports. There is a lovely photo of you on the "other board" under Keith's thread. You looked like you were enjoying your chat with the Captain. I hope that you have another wonderful day.
Thank you for sharing Mary Ann. I am thoroughly enjoying reading your posts. May you continue to have a great time both with the cruise itself anf the casino. Its a rough job, but someone had to do it! :lol :lol
