March 13 - a swell day at sea!

Heavy swells began during the night, and are continuing. In his morning report from the Bridge, the Captain cautioned us that there will be movement today, and urged everybody to hold on to railings when walking around the ship. Yes, there’s some rolling and pitching, but it has been quite tolerable.

I fell asleep the moment I got in bed last night - I awoke after dawn with lights on, eyeglasses on, reading material still next to me on the bed. I was really out. I worked several hours before emerging from my cocoon this morning. Ate a light breakfast in the Bistro (smoked salmon) and had a double cappuccino. Chatted with a few people whom I knew, then went to my latest machine in the casino. The $5.00 that turned into $20.00 last night is now $70.00 with about an hour of play time. I continue to be happy. :grin

There was an American Buffet topside on Lido Deck for lunch. I’m not much into that - I went to the Dining Room, had some chilled cucumber soup with Bay shrimp and a nice, juicy hamburger. Now I’m ready for a nap. I’ll check in again tonight after dinner.

This should be an "interesting" evening. The production show was cancelled, which means we're in for continued rough weather. As of now, there aren't too many white caps, but the swells continue to be very heavy.

I've forgotten to mention that by some "miraculous" means, we WILL have St.Patrick's Day - the International Date Line will be crossed March 18, so we'll jump from March 17 to 19. :grin Must be the luck 'o the Irish!

Speaking of luck, my little $5.00 stake is now up to $100.00. Heh Heh

I'm jumping in the shower now - Captain's private cocktail party in a little while.

I'll report again after dinner.

Sorry about the rough weather but that is part of cruising you never know what the seas are going to be like. Can't wait to hear about the captain private cocktail party.
Thanks again for sharing your trip with us. You are missed around here and we can feel we are with you on your cruise.

One of the things that Grub liked most about crusing was that he could (basically) have unlimited salmon. Had a standing order for two servings, grilled at dinner every nigh, in addition to whatever he ordered off the menu! When he found out that there was salmon on the buffet lines at both breakfast and lunch, I thought he was going to turn orange!

Yep Mama Duck ... stick with that penny slot.

Shipmaven - sure hope your swells die down soon, enough is enough. And this comes from someone who likes the swells. :)

Congrats on turning your $5 into $100...keep up the good work and have fun!!

Mary Ann have enjoyed your on going diary . I think I will let you choose my menu on the Duck cruise everything sounds so good and so pretty to look at too. You are sure having good luck on that penny machine. I really have never gotten much thrill out of penny machine and seem to get tempted to spend bigger bets on each cruise. I think I finally broke even last cruise but did play more pennies. Some day I will get nerve to gamble a $5 one time. I love meeting of coincendence after years. I will be checking bac k daily now.

Relayed Greetings from Shipmaven. She said the internet has been down and thus hasn't been able to get on.

They're about an hour away from docking at Honolulu. The weather has been the horrid! :( :( :(

The ship, food, service, etc., etc., etc. continues to be outstanding! :thumb :thumb :thumb

Just back from our private tour which I hosted. The "weather gods" blessed us today! Will write later. Tour was top-notch.

I just Quacked with Mary Ann. She rubbed it in on what a great time she is having while the rest of us are stuck here on land. The weather was hot and humid today and they are hoping the seas will calm down. She was very impressed with the driver and tour guide today on her hosted tour. (I'm surprised she wasnt driving the tour bus :) ).

She sounded great. She is heading off for a sail a way cocktail party.

Yes her next 10 cruises are free with Crystal for the rave reviews she is posting. (Kidding )
