We are booked on the Feb 2/09 Constellation Cruise. Does anyone know if Perry Grant is going to be in Michael's Club. We saw him on our Canada/NE cruise last October and loved his show. If he isn't on that cruise do you know when he is scheduled to be on the Connie?
Yes, he rules. Everyone loves him. He was on Connie this Feb when I was onboard. I did a little checking for you. No, I don't know why (probably because he doesn't need one) but he does not have a website. Secondly, he is under contract until July 08 on Connie...no further info. However, most entertainers (who are employed under officer status) are given 6-8 month contracts. A well loved act such as Perry can choose whatever ship and sailings he wishes.
My guess would be since he seems to love Connie so much, he will probably pick up another 8 month booking in the fall. You can try to confirm with Captains' Club, they have a list of all "headliners" for each cruise, however, they do NOT have a list of show bands, guitar and piano players, only the main stage acts.
I would probably wait until Oct/Nov (when his contract will be active) and check the boards for Connie passengers. They'll let you know if he rebooked with the Connie. If he's there late fall 08 - he'll be there for your Feb cruise.
Coincidentally, I'm also booked on the 2/2/09 sailing of the Constellation, my third cruise in as many years on this wonderful ship. Friends I had met on my last Constellation cruise, who were big Perry Grant fans, just returned from their second such cruise. I received their e-mail last evening, stating: "Perry Grant was still there and as good as ever. He was every bit as good as last year with a whole new set of fans. Sold out every night."
Therefore, it's safe to assume that he'll still be there when we set sail in six weeks.
Just got off the Constellation on Dec 22. Our second cruise on this ship primarily because of Perry. He was in fine form and we went to see him every evening. Bought his DVD which was good but not the same as seeing him in person in Michael's Club. The DVD is of the show he performed in the Celebrity Theatre. We found he was better in the smaller venue.
As to the cruise of Feb 9, 2009 I seem to remember there was some talk on the ship that Perry was going on vacation in early 2009 so I don't know if he will be on that cruise. If it is important to you I suggest you contact Celebrity Cruises to find out if he will be there.
