I had heard somewhere that there are a couple of cruises ships now that have single rooms. Anyone know what ships these are? A friend of mine wants to go on a cruise and doesn't want to pay the high fare for being one person in a cabin.

Carnival offers cruises with no single supplement during off peak periods. Cruises are available for this month and June, and I'm sure will become available after the summer. The link below will take you to the page of available cruises. My Fantasy solo cruise was booked with the no single supplement rate.

Thanks Jeff. I will have to wait until later to check dates as my friend wants to go either April or May 2015.

Yes, NCL's largest ships have a section for single-occupancy cabins. They also share a private lounge, making it easier to meet other solo travelers. I believe the cabins are interiors.
