It is with a broken heart that I report that Andy Hopkins (Capt. Queeg), Pam (Pamda) Kane's widower, died this morning while playing golf.

Andy retired on October 1 and was looking forward to embarking Nov. 1 on "our cruise of a lifetime" on a Viking River Cruise to China with his new wife of 3 yrs., Frieda.

Needless to say, the Phlock has many fractured pink hearts tonight.

I don't remember Capt Queeg, but I do remember Pamda. Seems that every month a couple more names are added to this sad list.

God Bless you Andy. Smooth seas ....

On one had you want to say at least he went doing something he loved then you remember he and his bride were schedule to do the river cruise they were so looking forward to. My throughts and prayers to Frieda and Andy's children.

I also don't remember Capt. Queeg, but I do also remember Pamda. I am so sorry to hear this news. Prayers his family finds the strength they need to get through this, so they can rejoice in the lifetime of memories they built.

The Phlock is stunned and saddened by this news. Retired on the 1st and gone on the 18th. So unfair! He and Frieda were so looking forward to this China river cruise. Our thoughts and prayers are with Frieda and all the family. Andy was sooo funny, he was a joy to be around.

RIP Andy. Smooth sailing!

I remember his name from the past and this is another lesson in not waiting to live life until after retirement...do it now. I'm glad he didn't suffer but sad at any time and send my thoughts to his family and friends.

I'm sorry to hear Andy has passed away. I had the pleasure of meeting him on the RSMC and I really enjoyed his company. He was a real gentleman.

I do rememberr Pamda but sorry I don't remember Capt Queeg. As Nieciez said, at least he was doing something he loved & he did not suffer as so many of our friends have. However, this will not lesson anyone's sorrow over this sudden loss. My deepest sympathy to his friends & family.

I'm so sorry another CA member has passed. May he join up with our other addicts who have passed and I'm sending prayers to his loved ones he has left behind. Seems so unfair to have so little retirement time.
