Lisa, having faith that your beloved dad is with his soul mate again must be comforting. How is your brother doing?

{{{HUGS}}} Lisa. While the pain of such a loss may ease over time, it's impossible to forget the loss of a parent or loved one. Recently, it was 25 years since my Dad died, and it soon will be 28 years for my Mother. The memories are ever present.

Glo, healthwise he is still somewhat fragile but he seems to be doing better. However, he is distancing himself from my sister and I....and with all that has gone on with his alcoholism and behavior, in a way it is a relief that he is distancing himself. Both my sister and I have tried and tried to have patience with him, but he just doesn't care about anything or anyone but himself. We caught him redhanded taking things from the estate, but he flat out denied it while holding the things in his hands. Laura and I have decided what we want from the estate...he can have what's left (and what he has already taken)......and according to the attorney we all hired to oversee the probate, etc.........it is a fair division of everything. But we all know there will be problems with my brother down the road regarding everything........the alcohol induced encephalopathy makes him so hard to deal with. Thank yo for asking and letting me vent just a little bit. :(

Mary Ann - thank you for the kind words. I will always miss him....for some reason I was much closer to my Dad than I was to my Mom. I will always cherish the memories of both of them.

Hugs Lisa.......you know that the Phlock is right with you. Don't feel guilty about Mark....you have done all that you can do for him. His demons, unfortunately are stronger than love of family, which is sad, but you and Laura (I think), now have to think about yourselves. You can't save someone who does not want to be saved. I know......family history. Many hugs!
