Hi I have booked a tour with the cruise line it's called Pirates of the Carribean, it is on a sailing vessel called the Brig Unicorn, and was the actual ship used in the movie, it also follows the same route and goes to Pigeon Island..Has any one out there done this shore excursion...it seems to be popular as it is already sold out for my November cruise but just wondering if any one has done this...thanks

Re: St. Lucia PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

Did this excursion in May 07 with 3 couples. Its an OK trip. Boat ride out is enjoyable, then there is the "Treasure Hunt" on the island. There are a few history points on the island and a small beach. Can't remember if there was any adult beverages being served, Rum Punch maybe. You do get to see a bunch of the island and get some history. As for repeatability, I would say its a one time trip.

We did it in Feb. of 07, and loved it. There is free fruit or rum punch on board the Unicorn. The sail was a lot of fun. We skipped the Treasure hunt and climbed Pigeon Island. It is a rather steep climb with several switch backs and on very steep stairway. The view from the top is really beautiful. There is a little bar near where they drop you off, a nice little place. We wished we would have had more time there.
I do have quite a few photos posted on Webshots. Here is a link to the album. The Brig Unicorn photos start on page 8.

Thanks for your great photos! :)

Did anyone just STAY ON THE SHIP and not go on shore? :S

Re: St. Lucia PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

You always have some people who stay on the ship. For some people the ship is all the destination they need. We are port people, and the ship is just a beautiful way to get places. St Lucia is a great port and one of our favorite islands. We just need to get off and see places.

Thank You! We have been to Pigeon Island so know the beach is not very good -- very small and shallow. As you said -- the SAIL is enough for some! Thank you again! (tu)
