Tallinn cruise

In the end of August I and a friend was on a short ferry cruise to Tallinn. The weather was not too nice (hence the cold I got) but I managed to grab some photos with my new camera.
I thought I should share some of them.

Let's start with a photo of the ship (taken a year or so ago), Baltic Queen. She is rather colorful.

First stop was in Mariehamn on the Finnish island of Ã…land. Most ferries between Sweden and Finland make a short stop there as this means that they are allowed to sell duty free onboard. Here is the small ferry Rosella.

I didn't take any photos outside in Tallinn due to rain, but here are a few from the lunch restaurant (a nice brewery).

Of course they had some good beer there!

We had a light lunch with salad and chicken. It was very tasty!

Some other cruise ships were in Tallinn the same day as we were there. Here is Seabourn Sojourn.

In the distance Mein Schiff can be seen, behind the ferry Baltic Princess.

Ok, that was the firts part of the trip. Some photos of the return back home to Sweden will follow.

Let's continue with some photos from the evening onboard.
After some drinks it was time for dinner. This time we tried the Russian restaurant, Alexandra. It proved to be a big success, nice atmosphere and great food!
    Here is the starter.

    This was the main course.

During the evening a band was playing in the show lounge. They were actually really good.

There was also a show with some rather talanted dancers.

A lot of small children watched the show. I think this looked cute!

I will finish with some photos from the Stockholm archipelago.

The orange ferry is an archipelago ferry with service between the main land and some of the islands. In the distance you can see the Viking Line ferry from Helsinki.

I would not mind living in one of these houses!

That was all. I hope it will be better weather next time I go to Tallinn but it's still nice to do a short ferry cruise no matter the weather.
I also have to say I was pleased with my new camera. It seems to be a good tool (great image quality and fast auto focus), much smaller than my old Canon DSLR so it's great to bring when I want to pack light but still want a DSLR camera.
I just got a new lens for it yesterday, so now I'm set for my Med cruise next week!

I loved cruising into and out of Stockholm! It was just beautiful....definitely the most beautiful scenery while we were sailing our Baltic itinerary!

    Thanks for the photos.
Will take a trip to Stockholm in November with Silja Symphony in a Commodore-class cabin, can't wait for that.

Gr8 Photos Erik and I agree with your assessment of the NEW camera. The area VERY much reminds me of the St. Lawrence and 1000 island area that were highlights of my childhood. :boogie: I have moved up the Baltic Cruise on my Bucket List and hopefully will get a booking made VERY soon to remove it from My Bucket List. Thanx for the share Buddy.

Great pics thanks. "E" took my thoughts out of my alleged brain about it looking like the 1000 Island area along the St. Lawrence just down river from Kingston Ontario. Of course we don't get good looking ships like that around much though.. if ever.

    Thanks all! :thankyou:
Maybe we shall plan a Baltic C@ group cruise in the near future? :boogie:

If U are the Group Leader and do NOT require ALL C@'s to pole dance then consider it a Winner.

Your new camera is helping you to live up to our expectations of wonderful, sharp and sometimes mouth-watering pictures of your Baltic cruise adventures! Very nice!

We can have two options so no one will be forced to pole dance. The other option? Of course; participate in the Quest! Yup, I'll bring my video camera...
Group leaders are entitled to drink beer instead of any of those two activities...

Note to E; this will be valid for a Baltic cruise only, NOT for a big easy cruise. Ok, you may have some beer... :cheer:
