For those who need their Alaska fix until next summer's cruising season, how would you like to order one of these at this time?!

This came in my email today, trying to entice me to buy directly from Alaska. Shopping carefully, one can almost buy an Alaska cruise next year for what this costs with overnight shipping added!

Where did they get the little guy from? Saw yesterday that 'real' crab legs were selling in the local grocery store for $16 per pound. I did not stop to see what type of crab they were. They did not look big enough to be king crab legs, but they were a lot bigger than what you normally see on cruise ships!

Earl - Pinnacle Grill has some nice Northwestern and Alaskan specialties in their menu choice. As I've been saying for quite awhile, think Alaska as a possibility in 2012 if HAL cooperates in continuing their 14-night itinerary.

Jacquie - will this do?

Here are a couple of shots from our local grocery store in town. the price is now $16.95 per pound, but they are still pretty darn good . . .

These are not great pictures, but then they were taken with a cell phone! Now if I only enjoyed eating them . . . . . . . .

Honestly, Mary Ann . . . I like crab cakes, but not crab legs. May just be the way they are seasoned, but crab legs are just not that appetizing to me. It may also be all in my head as I have trouble with the way they look. . . . . too much like spiders . . . .
