Thanks to those who responded on Maw's ramble this morning. My son was rushed for emergency surgery this morning for appendicitis.

It hadn't burst, which was good, but it was very swollen and infected. His doctor even brought us a photo of it before he removed it. Yuck!! He was in a lot of pain, (TJ not the doctor) so they knocked him out with morphine and we left to let him sleep. They are putting a cot in the room for his wife, she went home to change and let the dogs out. They are expecting to send him home some time tomorrow.

They just got back from their NCL Sky cruise a couple days ago. Good thing it waited!

I don't think the Caribbean has been kind to them, before their last vacation there his wife tripped and broke her ankle in 3 places and had to have surgery.

Connie - Great news that they got it out before it ruptured. I was not so lucky with mine.

I hope your son has a speedy recovery and goes home soon!

I hope he is doing fine now, Conniecat. For being so small those silly appendixes sure do cause a lot of trouble. =hug

I'm so sorry to read this, Connie, but relieved that they got to him before his appendix burst.

Thanks everyone for your concern. He called this morning and is doing better, however he is still running a fever so they are going to keep him tonight, too. The doctor said there was infection around the appendix, they are hoping the antibiotic will clear it up soon.
  14. Man sorry to hear this but glad they caught it in time and is doing better, many hugs to you and your son Connie.

Wow, he really cut that one close! Like the others I'm glad he made it home in time, if it had to happen at all. It sounds he'll have a speedy recovery, good to hear. I trust that's one pic that you won't be posting for captions!

Bj, I fell asleep at my desk the other day, and fell forward catching the tip of my nose on the edge of the desk. Quite sore! Them when I was trying to wrestle the scooter into the car, I flipped the seat down to make it in the door. and caught myself on the chin with the arm. Sort of pales in significance with the rest of our problems, doesn't it?
