I'm finakky leaving next week and I checked the weather in Alaska. Rain every day for the next 10. Is that normal? When it says showers does that necessarily mean all day or could it be intermittent? Just wondering what to expect.

    So excited.

    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately you have picked one of the peak rain months to cruise Alaska. You can generally count on rain in Ketchikan anytime because it is one of the wettest rain forests in the US. Whether the rain is intermitant or not will be up to something beyond your control.

You will still see a lot of beauty and more than likely the tours will still be going on, with the possible exception of some flight tours if the rain is to heavy. Bring your rain gear and enjoy your trip. Don't let a little rain bother you.

Oh no, peak rain month. I hope I get to do the dog sled ride out of Juneau.

Guess it's bad hair days for a week.

We had rain the last week in May, it was constant, but light. Forget an umbrella, bring a light weight hooded, water proof jacket and you'll be fine. We were never really cold. Have a great trip - Alask is awesome and the rain is part of the atmosphere.
